Just realized that I have only seen one Necron player in the last two years. Wondering if its been the same at other places. Seen Sisters a few times and even some Black Templar but no Necrons for the life of me.

Any of you guys still play them? Is everyone just waiting for a new dex? Is the current one really that bad?

People still play them and there is at least one decent build left in the codex. I think most Necron players are probably just waiting for the new codex and people who follow the rumors are not bothering with getting any models until the new dex comes out.

There was a necron player at bay area open that went 4-3 out of a pool of like 65 players. Not too shabby IMO for a 11 year old codex.

I sold my army maybe a year back, not because the book is or isnt good, just the army is soo damn boring to play.

Granted, I experiment with other factions too, but Necrons are my main.

When looking for an alternative to my then-fledgling Space Marine army, I looked first at the Necrons. I bought the codex, but the hook never took hold and I moved on to consider other armies to try.

I can't speak for all Necron players, but I'm fairly certain that most have temporarily retired their armies because the current Necrons aren't exciting enough to keep interest up, and, for the same reason, can't recruit new players.

We must live near an active tomb complex. Seems like every other player has a Necron army. We only have two or three guys who play Necrons as their main army, but we still see them fielded a whole bunch.

I know two other people who have them, but neither one of them uses them. I am the only person at the three FLGS's I go to that plays Necrons.

I love my Necrons. They are my favorite army in 40k, in both fluff and gameplay. I may not win with them very often, but I still love them. I love playing the army that nobody plays. I love when people who have never seen them before come and ask questions, or ask to play me.

Necrons are amazing, and, while not as amazing as we used to be, WE'LL BE BACK.
