If you look closely you can see how the paint seems to creat a dusty look, but done like this it works extremely well, exactly the sort of technique i will be using for my Grey knights
Yeah I chose to drybrush because Iv not had much success painting on lightning and other such effects.
All I did was for each lighter layer of drybrushing used I would start drybrushing further from the middle, which is what gives it the different shades moving from the middle of the blade to the edge.
If you think that the different shades on the blade arent very well blended you can always use a blue wash and then drybrush a bit more over that.
