I saw the other thread in the OT forum about which movies you'd like to see come about.

How about the movies you wish had never been created?

It's hard to pick a number one...but 10,000 B.C. is certainly up there.

God that movie is awful.

Edit: And remember it's fine to disagree about a movie, but please keep your critisisms about the movie, not the people who enjoy them. Not saying this has already happened, I just feel like it's worth mentioning.

Yeah, the only two I put down that were actually bad movies were Avatar: TLA and Dragonball.

The others, I just got tired of "dude, bro, brah, dude, bro, dude, have you seen X? You should totally see X, dude. They're all like, dude, bro, dude, and then like, dude."

Also, the entire _____ Movie franchise. God, those aren't even bad enough to be campy. They're just awful.

Suckerpunch.

Goddamn it, the trailer was amazing, the concept was decent, and somehow the director made such a goddamned boring movie that I was more interested in assembling models than watching the pretty chicks with guns and swords.

Imagine the feeling when you position your tanks, engines idling, landing gear deployed for a low profile, with firing solutions along a key bottleneck. Then some fether lands a dreadnought behind them in a giant heat shielded coke can.

I agree on star trek. It was fun to watch, had great casting and music. The bridge looked totally rad.

But at the end of the day, it was a big dumb movie with a big dumb plot that took a big dumb dump all over what came before it.

Simlar to Avatar I think.

Avatar will always be a beautiful movie though. Stinks like gak, but looks fantastic.

AVP 2. Completely nonsensical. I'm actually one of the few people that really enjoyed the first AVP but the second ones incredibly bad choices and twisting of the established fluff made me wretch.

I wanted to like that movie so badly. I saw the trailer, heard the people whine about it, and casted them aside. I'm totally into the trailer, I can put on some fanboi glasses and look past any flaws and simply perceive them as minor, or overlook them completely, right?

No. No I could not. That movie was boring as hell, the CGI sequences were a total let down, and the ending was ambigous just because the director wanted to make people think that he could pull off another inception...or something.

I think the last time I felt so bad after watching a movie was after I watched the road. Entirely different reasons, but still hurtful nonetheless.

I liked Star Trek. It certainly wasn't great, but it was enjoyable.

I'll cast my vote for Napoleon Dynamite. I think I smirked slightly at the line "Do the chickens have large talons" and "Tina, come get some ham, you fat lard", but I don't know why as those lines are not particularly funny. Overall: awful. Completely awful. A terrible movie. I am completely baffled at its cult following.

@Necroshea: That was my exact reaction. I'd been drooling over the trailer for a year and a half, and had dismissed the dislikes as merely people who wanted a deep storyline in an action flick. But instead of a shallow story, he tried to pull an Inception, and did a crappy job of it, and it showed...

Avatar the Last Airbender. It was just bad. They got the names wrong too. I even love the series, it just didn't do it justice.

Yeah I feel the same way. Avatar did 3d in a solid non-gimmicky way that enhanced the experience. The story was super simple but it was told well. It's important but not strictly good.

The new star trek is great in that it got a lot of new people into the franchise, rebooted after awful things like nemesis and livened things up. It's bad because it changed the target audience to normal people and doesn't have a soul.

Star Trek as a whole is good because it is about people and relatable experiences. The technobabble is actually great because you don't HAVE to understand it, it's not actually what the show is about, it's about the people all along. The new movie was all about action. They took away a good part of the characters' relatability (with some exceptions) by making them action heroes. Basically I loved it at the time, then spent the next few days liking it less and less the more I thought about it. Go watch it, then watch khan or some DS9 and the difference is pretty stark. It's dropped 100 iq points somewhere.

M Night Shamalallamaman should never have been allowed anywhere near Avatar.

Starship Troopers also should have never happened. They couldn't do justice to how awesome the MI are, and shouldn't have bother making it. For shame.

Alien 3.

The should have stopped the franchise with Aliens if that's all they could come up with. Actually, better stuff did gone on and off the table during it's production hell or should I say gestation period? Watching the final product was about as painful as a chestburster after all.
