I have been wanting to star a Grey Knight army but do not want to use the cutlery scheme. I have been torn between white and rd. I have decided on white with some fortress grey areas? Does anyone have any photos of white Grey Knights?

warning sarcasum routine start up+++++

yeah I'm sure the professional painter will just give away all his knoweldge?

Sarcasum ends+++++

On a side note I'd like to see that color scheme reversed, mostly red with white accents.

Sarcasm or not....you don't know, don't speak for me.

To the OP, that effect was achieved by dipping. I base coated the model in a 2:1 ratio of Vallejo Ivory to Vallejo Brown Beige. If it comes out a little brown, just bump the ratio to 3:1. All the red areas were painted in Vallejo Flat Red.

After all the areas were blocked in, I dipped and spun the mode using PloyShades Mission Oak by Minwax. I have found that you can get really good results dipping if you thin the varnish down just a little bit, laquer thinner works well for this and I think it was a bout a 4:! ratio of stain to varnish.

After the dip had plenty of time to dry,I sprayed the mdoel with Testor's Dull Coat and starting highlighting the while and bringing the red back out more. I used the same colors that I used to block everything in with, except I worked my highlight all the way up to Vallejo Foundation White.

Goodluck.

My appologies I meant no offence I did mean to point out to the OP however that as a professional painter your techniques and processes are vital to your continued work and if you teach them to everyone else you are basicaly giving away your marketable skills for nothing Which I find kinda wrong.

My appologies if I caused offence to either yourself or anyone else.

Apology accepted, but I feel that the attitude you just described, which is an attitude that many "professional" painters has, creates an inequality among the people in this hobby, and furthers an attitude of elitism. Painting is a skill, and it is a skill that most people can learn through patience and practice. By me helping people by giving them advice on how to paint, which I have done freely on numerous occasions, helps them enjoy their personal hobby experience, the more enjoyment they have, the more that benefits everyone in the hobby. Now if someone wants to pay me to paint their army, because they do not want to invest the time or patience needed, that is fine too, but I really have issue with painters who covet their own painting abilities, and I also have issue with those who perpetuate it, that is why I responded the way I did.

Again, thank you for your apology, I sincerely mean that.

this opens up a very nice debate and I'd love to have a long conversation about the etiquet and morals of the situation however I think the topic should stay on target and we should see more white and red knights.

Ohh if you'd like to be part of this debate here's the link http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/401116.page

I don't have any pics of them online at the moment, but I've got a unit of GK's painted with a red-and-silver quartered scheme. It would adapt well to red/white probably, and it looks fairly nice with their knightly aesthetic.

I tried doing the white/red GKT's a while ago, but they sucked. The colours were awesome but my painting skills just sucked balls. So they got stripped and painted to match the rest of my non-GK marines.

I honestly can't stand the boltgun metal scheme unless it has lots of other colours on it - reds, blues and especially purples in large amounts make the scheme tolerable.

I've got a dozen Grey Knights in green and silver coming along, but red and white also sounds like it presents promise.

Why not actually do them as "grey" Grey Knights?

Codex/Adeptus Battlegrey armor with red detailwork and filligree could look fantastic.
