Nothing beats the old TSR FASERIP (pronounced Face-rip) system for Marvel. Characters built in 5 min, dynamic combat, LOTS of collateral damage and a system that makes it all but impossible to die (a quick kick to the corpse and a "you okay?" is more than enough to qualify for a basic, life saving first aid check.)

Check out this website for a copy of the rules (you'll need both the player's and judges book to play) and some of the expansions.

The above-linked DC Adventures was the flagship for the third edition of the game known as Mutants and Masterminds. It's a significantly-modified version of the d20 system a.k.a. D&D 3E. I like it pretty well myself and you can find some good reviews of it on YouTube.

In August, Margaret Weis Productions announced that they'd be doing a Marvel RPG to be released Q1 2012. They already publish RPG books for the Firefly, Smallville, Battlestar Galactica, and Supernatural franchises. I don't know if the Marvel game will use it, but MWP's other games use the Cortex system and its variant.

There was an old DC Heroes rpg system (don't remember the publisher off the top of my head) that I had some good times with. The all of the stats and powers scaled exponentially but compared linearly, which tried to mimic the effects of, say, people being able to survive superman punching them. For instance, Batman could conceivably last a few rounds in a fist fight, but unless he pulled off one of his tricks he'd get creamed. It led to some pretty crazy characters, and that made it pretty fun.

Or it could be abused. I made a character in it once who had a build using a Superman-tier number of points, but putting them all into the cheapest power available, which was increased sight range. The guy ended up being a regular dude, but able to pick out something the size of a car a galaxy or two away.
