Hello everyone,

I have been very slowing building my 750pts kan wall list. It is taking ages to paint all of them but I have them already half assembled but more important for me playable. Now most of my games are against my housemate who decided to go for grey and with army painter primer and a couple of hours per squad is pretty much ready to run 2000pts list. So in the spirit I am trying to starting thinking where I should go from the 750pts list I have at the moment.
Here is what I came up for the different point levels:
1000pts

1500pts

As usually any comment and criticisms are welcome.

The lists are all solid; I usually use a squad of Grots in big lists for objective babysitting. I'm not at all fond of Dreds, they rarely seem to pack their weight, but your mileage may vary.

I on the other hand think the lists are fine as they are. There is no need to camp on an objective. Orks can overwhelm the enemy with numbers you only need one objective to win. with all the kans you cna be sure to contest most of there objectives. I place my objectives in the middle of the board as that is wheere I plan on being. Why waste points holding something that I shouldn't have to hold?

I love Dreads I run 3 of them in my 2k list. I don't see why they don't get used more often as they add some much needed heavier armor. They have worked fine for me and I suggest trying them out for sure.

Great.
Maybe adjust the loota numbers. So 5, 10, 10 may be better for you, as it gives you two fearless squads and the 5 man can target smaller targets.
I would go for all three big shootas in your mobs. Especially for the squad I would try to keep back with the lootas.

They all look good, honestly. Very solid, and competitive.

They are not as efficient as Kanz, point for point, but they aren't bad units at all. If I had some I'd field them, honestly. I think a lot of it is your tactics, and local meta. I've gone into battles seriously intimidated by lists to find the tactical usage of them flawed. I've taken less competitive units into games for fun and used them successfully. I think we can all say that there are games won that we would have lost, had the opposing player been using tactics on a similar level.

It looks good, i am wondering though if 90 boyz is enough at 2k points, I lack experience at this point range though. Perhaps drop a dread or a deffkopta to get to 120 boyz??

If the amount of boyz is a concern, you could drop a dread and some lootas(drop 10 and take them down to 5 each) for another unit.

Honestly, on second inspection, with the 2k list, I'd be tempted to group the lootas as 15, 5, 5. One fearless to start. The rest in optimal small unit, requiring 2 wounds to force a morale test, and with the chance of losing very few models. Obviously, the 15 squad would be targeted, but currently, those 8's only need 2 wounds to force a test, same as a group of 5. Dropping 10 lootas and a dread would give you your perfect 235 points for another unit of the boyz.

Ninety boyz is about all you will want to play game in and game out, believe me. It's a nightmare moving a 100+ models a turn - says the guy who plays two Green Tides in Apocalypse. Plus there isn't room for that many models unless you play on at least an 8'x4' table.

A squad of Grots isn't a bad idea. They can hide in reserve for as long as possible and then stroll to an objective. They will give you a fourth troop that won't require as much attention as a squad of boyz and won't tie up as many points babysitting an objective.

I think 90 boys is more then enough. The idea of a kan wall is kans not boys. If you want the boys then it would be more of a green tide kinda build.

Honestly I only run 60 in my 2k list. I have only lost once at this level. Lost twice at 2.5k with double the boys.(bad rolls at ard boys) I also run 7 meganobs but thats for a different discusion. :lol

I defer to your judgement. I might start building a Kan Wall in the next 6 months, because I feel it's just a better variant of a green tide.

I guess! I just see the highlight of a green tide as the boys. The highlight with a kan wall is the kans. I can see some kan support in a green tide but thats just my point. The kan wall has support from the boys. I wouldnt have 3 kans and call that a kan wall would I? And vice versa!

Now niether is really wrong just different point of views. But I think mine is better.

Again it really all depends on personal taste. If you are more comfortable to run 60 boys then do so. If you think you need more then run more.
