So ya the idea of starting chaos dwarfs would be good times, Im a bit of a chaos fun and well my shooting phase is pretty much hellcannon fire... or not might as well just charge those guys what ever.
Then the magic phase is usually more productive and one of the 2 things my army revolves around.

I want a shooty army but I dont want good guys and I like cannons.
Also a fun idea would be shutting down peoples magic phase.

I thought about empire but well I would pretty much convert marauders and such and basically ya i dont want an evil empire army.

I like the dwarfs and I am going to use their army book just have them be... well simply put modeled as chaos dwarfs.

So im just looking through the book and such and well there is a lot of content runes weapons units.

I was wondering if any dwarf players out there would be willing to share some of their knowledge about what units to avoid, what runes are worth looking at and such.
Not asking to build an army just something like cannon rune of burning works well or your experiences.

Im aiming for a 2.5k list and am pretty much just looking for some food for thought so that I have a general idea when im building a list.

I've been giving this a lot of thought myself lately. I've been playing chaos dwarves for a few months, and I'm just growing a little tired of not having a current book. A few Dwarvish thigns that apeal to me are:

-Anvil: Strike it to get magical movement during the shooting phase, and a number of other cool benefits.
-"Gromil armor: Pretty much chaos armor....
-Organ Guns: A whole rack of short range shots to make fast cav very sorry they approached your warmachines.
--Rangers: Get to scout.....
-Cannons and stone throwers with nasty Runes....
-Engineers: (demon smiths?) make these things hurt even more....
-Rune Smiths: Help fight against opposing magic
-I hear the Gyrocopter is no good, but I'd enjoy modeling a Great Taurus or Lamausu to counts as, just for fun.
-Slayers: Stubborn Mofo's that just look all kinds of cool.......

I know very little about dwarves, but like you, I am very curious about using the models I've been converting for playing dwarves....

what do you guys think about Thunderers? Are they a special choice? Are they worth taking? I've got a bout 60 converted chaos dwarves with Blunderbuss and it would be a shame for them to not see any use....

What websites focus on regular dwarves?

I see hmm I think a converted copter would be sweet but from the ogre fluff and just the models.

I kind of had a changing of the mind and decided to go for ogres instead.
Less guys to paint still going to make them look chaosy.
They can shoot well as well as be awesome in combat.
That all and they eat things.

Not trying to be a band wagon jumper but these guys are cool looking and awesome fluff.
Them being competitive and new and all that dosnt really have anything to do with it.

I have been drooling over the stone horn kit.
As well as making mournfangs and ogres in general into chaos ogres.

Yeah, there is a part of me that has always wanted to paint an Ogre myself. But still, I hope that at some point you do a rockin' lil people of chaos army.

Oh Dwarfs will happen.

And i will keep all the info from this thread to help me when the time comes some time this summer is when that will kick off possibly depends how ogres go.

Radical. I look forward to it, my own progress is going ridiculously slow. The minis are not that expensive to get a hold of, but lord almighty has this taken a long time. Last night, while I should have been studying/sleeping, I began to work out how to convert Bull Centaur from the Chaos Knight kit. So far, things are just stuck together with poster putty, but they make me all happy in the pants.

5 Ironguts 5 Leadbelchers 6 bulls.

Also just started on a iron blaster.

There are some sick bits that come with these which will be used on dwarfs for sure.

As well as my local store manager showed me his chaos dwarfs and well that was inspiring.
