Ok, we all know that The Dark Knights Rises will be the better of next year's two big comic book films, but file this under guilty pleasure

Let's hope that the Batman movies don't follow the same pattern that the Spiderman movies did.

Spiderman 1: Pretty good.
Spiderman 2: All kinds of awesome.
Spiderman 3: Wha... much disappoint...

I'm somewhat enthusiastic about The Avengers, but I'm waiting for the second trailer to see if they show a little more of the goods.

Wait.....What? The Avengers? As in 1960's Brit TV show with much latex and fast 2 seat sports cars?

Ahhhh, Cap'n America et al......

Don't know if I'm disappointed or not now

Let us not forget what happened when they attempted to adapt the other Avengers into a film...

Ah yes Flashman.... That was a cringeworthy effort for sure. I've often wondered if they should try making it again?

Looks pretty bad. It's going to suffer greatly from too many movie star/charater syndrome.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

That looks suitably OTT.

I like that they have gathered all the big name actors from the separate Marvel films to appear in the same one. That just seems WIN to me even if the story is crap. It's like an episode of Doctor Who where all the Doctor's turn up.

I loved captain america and the incredible hulk films, iron man two was decent and I haven't seen Thor yet but I am pretty confident the avengers film will be awesome

The trailer was a tad dull, just banter between the avengers and a few explosions with the police and army doing stuff.

Whilst not exactly Shakespeare, I think it will be fun enough. Joss Wheddon hasn't directed a bad film yet* and the ensemble cast is very much his bag. So long as Downey Jnr isn't allowed to hog the screen too much, I think they'll work well together. At the end of the day, the superhero "team up" concept is no different from X-Men.

*Flashman acknowledges that Joss Wheddon has only directed one film

This is gonna be awsome! (yes, whilst I don't find any of the marvel movies good, they're usually quite entertaining and enjoyable popcorn flicks).

The only thing that it's missing.. and I'm not exactly sure its missing.. but the REAL hulk... I mean, the Edward Norton variety, because he just made that particular movie work so well.

Yeah he and the studio got into a huge fight about the direction of the Banner character. Apparently Norton refused to do any promotion work when the film came out, because he was pissed about the final cut. Studio told him to watch the backswing on the exit door.

I agree though - no Norton sucks. But Ruffalo is a nice replacement.

This is the first proper trailer. That 30 second thing tacked onto the end of the Captain America movie doesn't count.

Agreed, the Hulk has always been my fav, specially the world war Hulk series, but either way Hulk = Win in my book. Where the hell is he? Hopefully he pops in at the right moment when everyone is "losing" and he comes to the rescue. Id be fine with that surprise.

Iron Man 3 is looking pretty good. Lots of cameos it seems.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

He pops up briefly at the end of the trailer. I suspect the effects work needed is the reason we're not seeing much of him so far. From the brief shot though, it looks like they're sticking with a similar look to the Edward Norton film. I think this is a shame, because IMHO, this...

...was an amazing effects shot compared to this...

I know opinions vary though.

He definitely seemed a great deal more powerful in the Lee version than Hulk II, almost like a building chain reaction. Hulk II he seemed eminently killable.

That's what I'm saying. I think the Norton version had slightly better plotting and pacing but overall I like the elements of the first Hulk movie; in addition to the overt comic book transitions he seemed much more an unstoppable force of nature.

Indeed. Wasn't that the deal? They effectively couldn't kill him, couldn't even hurt him. The more they tried the more powerful he became.

Love in the comments section of the link people are arguing Dark Knight or Avengers.
Me, I'm going to see both and I think I'll be very happy.

Not a fan of the new Bruce Bannor. Not a fan at all.

But other than that, Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man together will be pretty entertaining, to say the least. Especially if the actors can play off each other well enough.

The part of me that craves continuity hates the fact that Norton isn't playing banner. But then I remember that Scarlett Johansson's in this and I stop caring about continuity.

I can't wait for this.
