what would you guys think of a dark eldar revenant or phantom titan?

i know it doesn't really fit the fluff but i love the models and need an excuse to get one at some point. obviously i would give it that dark eldar feel with some chains skulls and other various accessories, but i was just wondering if people would have a problem with it.

Well, you'd probably be using it in Apocalypse games where anything goes, so knock yourself out. Fluff-wise it's really not the Dark Eldar's style though.

Well, it doesn't fit with Dark Eldar tactics. But at the same time Dark Eldar are such hedonists that I could totally imagine something on that scale being built just because the whims of some archon demanded it. I would be okay to play against it as long as you forewarned me. "Hey, wanna play a match against my Dark Eldar? I want to use a phantom titan," is cool. "Hey, wanna play a match against my Dark Eldar?" and then after I've picked out my army and we are setting up saying, "by the way, my army has a phantom titan," would not be cool.

Modeling-wise, there are several ways to go with it. It could be a twisted haemonculi project, like an uber Talos. I like the idea of treating it like a monument to the archon, with his face instead of the titan head.

ooh, that could be fun. but my army is a haemunculous coven, so i'm not sure the monumet idea would fit. and i don't have the skills to make an uber talos.

I love the whole whim-of-an-archon idea though, i might have to have two armies now :(

Something Apocalypse for Dark Eldar should look like Jabba the Hutt's sail barge, make it about 18" long and that would be awesome.

Rules-wise, Apocalypse lets you field whatever you want. You can have your Black Templar Chapter Master fight alongside Angron and several Eldar Revenant Titans. People paint their Titans with Space Marine chapter colors all the time.

Dark Eldar fielding a Titan seems more reasonable. Add fluff justification and all is good.

It's something I've been wanting to do since I started collecting DE.
I'd add some spiky bits onto it from the various vehicle kits first, though.

This +1. Take off its legs though and incorporate something floaty. I also am in Treesong's camp. I'm thinkking something bigger than the Tantalus; heavily armed, medium armor, about the size of the eldar superheavies if not a tad bigger. I can't really see the DE's pulling something really big likea Phantom, opting for a smallish titan like the rev. But hey, any well executed product brings in the believers. Knock yourself out!

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!

The DE are dying for a jabba's barge thing, the Raiders and look very much like the skiffs in the film.

Say they raided a craftworld or maiden world or something, and they looted it...it's an orky thing but it could work for DE

well, i think i need to start planning the modifications.

this will of course require some severe mental strengthening to allow me to touch a phantom titan with a drill/saw/green stuff

Something like a Hell Pit Abomination as a twisted Haemonculus project would be a good gargantuan creature.
