Space marines, the near unstoppable killing machines of the Emperor. We know how tough they can be but,
I was wondering what’s the most silly, strange or embarrassing way a space marine has died that you know of.

The first one that came to mind for me was mentioned in First Heretic. A marine is mentioned who was killed by a primitive warrior by being stabbed through the throat with a sharp stick.

“I’d laugh if it wasn’t so damn tragic” is the reaction if I recall

Those last two are crazy.

Was there anything special about this needle?

It was "SUPER MYSTERIOS XENO TECH" That poisoned him with something so utterly toxic it killed him within an hour or so, or something like that.

To be honest, that entire book is trash. Thinking of making a thread about it see what other people thought about it.

Does it make it more embarrassing or less that the 'child' turned out to be a midget?

I still don't understand why they didn't kill her. They hold her captive, after killing their captain. Then they say what she screamed at them was so blashemous they had to rotate the guards every hour or so while she was captive.

It's not nearly as stupid as most of these, but any mention of a Marine being shot through the eye of his helmet.

Those "eyes" are not lenses, they are just a different color armor with a light on it. Autosenses make something like a lens superfluous.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

The Souldrinker Ominibus is worse than anything Mat Ward has written. I'm still upset I spent $13 on it.

Over 20 typoes in the first hundred pages. I got to chapter 5 of the second book and just couldn't take it anymore.

I'm gonna pretend I never read it. Like the Great Gatsby.

It was a digital needler. Quite popular with inquisitors and other scumbags, a few editions ago. Very toxic. All monkey manufacture..

Apparently in the Grey Knights Omnibus, some Grey Knights fight some humans with medieval weaponry.

One of the Grey Knights is killed by a normal sword.

Apparently. Haven't read it myself.

Damn you beat me. Arguably a tragedy of war but one also a reason only have 1,000 men is very good motivator to not put all your eggs in one basket. Space Castle or no, the Astartes have it coming. Hell a particularly bad bout of flu has probably cripple more than a few Chapters.

Oh What a Lovely War.
