Hi guys, as you can see, I joined this site a quite a while ago, but since then I've mostly been a lurker, more active on Warseer and Ammobunker.

But I've always admired the strength of the Dakka community and would like to join in and show some of my stuff off. This project has been on the go for a while, hence the first post being a sort of a recap. If you want more pics and explanation of the earlier part of the process there's more in my blog.

Blog found here! Forlorn Hope.

The army is being built and painted to run at a local tournament (Quartermaster, Brisbane Australia), and so should have plenty of updates for the next month as I try and complete the army in time.

Here's a couple of pics to hopefully get you in the mood.

Wow. That red is a very nice shade. I'm liking the raptor/ lord. Very cool conversion.

Curiosity makes me ask what the general plan for this army is?

Tabletop quality Orks for Sale. Plenty of converted vehicles. Moving and don't want. PM for details.
GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

I was looking at your blog on Warseer yesterday so many excellent models. You should post your Terminators and Thunder wolves as well, they will go down a storm.

I'm planning on doing a similar thing for my Dark Wolves that you've done but I wont give it away.

Incredible stuff! Loving the Astorath counts as, might have to pick up a squad of raptors for my own use

Stormravens look very cool, how easy were the Chapterhouse kits to include in the GW kit?

Drop pods are a very good conversions, liking the plasticard details!

The army list is:
Astorath
Chaplain
10 Death company Power fist & thunderhammer
10 Death company Power fist & thunderhammer

Death company dreadnaught w/bloodfists & magna grapple
Drop pod
Death company dreadnaught w/bloodfists & magna grapple
Drop pod
Death company dreadnaught w/bloodtalons & heavy flamer
Death company dreadnaught w/bloodtalons & heavy flamer
Stormraven
Stormraven
-1850

The plan is to smash face, its a very unsubtle army, and with no scoring will struggle in objectice, playing for the draw. But it will scar the beejesus out of most armies

The red was all done with an airbrush, I started with a grey primer, then pre shaded with chaos black, then highlighted with pure skull white. once that was dried I gave the whole model a coat with blood red. Then the chipping was added, blazing oranage followed by scorched brown.

The CH kits were very easy to work with, and make an otherwise lack luster model great

Cheers

Awesome work! The conversions are very well done and the paint work pulls them together perfectly.

The zombie on the termies staff is a cool idea, really stands out from the rest of your paint pallet also.

Keep it up!

You'll hate me then It was done originally as a joke army, I copied a mates army word for word, because he said I wouldn't but he hates chaos, so I did it as khorne, including using the guy with the staff as Njal. A complete fluff abortion, but it pissed him off no end so I count it as a great success

Thanks mate

Well its a pretty simple, if slightly convoluted way of doing it.

1. Grey undercoat
2. Black preshade w/airbrush
3. White highlights w/airbrush
4. A couple of light coats of blood red w/ airbrush til solid colour
5. weather.

Hope that helps.

Thanks guys

Cutthroatcure: the rocks are broken up slate from a tile I got from the DIY store.

So its been a bit slow on the modelling front recently, what with the distractions of work, drinking and women, not necessarily in that order.

But I managed to force myself to assemble the first squad of 'Zerker/Death company infantry, and with 10 days to paint them all plus finish the last of the vehicles its going to be tight.

Now 6 of these blokes will be pulling double duty in my 400pt list as vanguard vets, so I still have to add a couple of stormshields to 2 of them, but they have all be magnetised ready for their raptor jumppacks to be added.

Cheers
