Subbed. Those Dreads are way too awesome to have to suffer from the CSM "1/3 chance of doing something stupid at the beginning of your turn" Dreadnought rules.

While they are truly awesome, being the epitome of Khornate means that rules is all the more suitable!

Love the smash-in-the-face list, who cares about objectives anyway? Stormravens look much better with that kit on
Really fitting that you said it would "scar" your opponents

For the berzerkers above, how did you convert the two handed weapons? Are they using the arms from WoC marauders? Are they bits from the GK range?
Also, for the dreads, are the chainsword arms Ork chaninswords or are they the saw blades from the IG Sentinel kits? The buzz saw bit I recognize as
being from the Ork Nobz set.

Thanks and I look forward to more great work from this force.

They were done with an air brush, over a white base coat:

Enchanted blue
Ultramarine
Mordian
Black

Then I masked the opposite side, and reversed the dirction of the colours.

Cheers I recently played in a 54 player tournament and came 20th, pretty happy with that since I have no scoring an the army wasn't completely painted.

They are indeed marauder flail arms, the shoulders get covered by pads, so its a bit of a mess under there, just find a go pose, pin and GS the bits you can see. No GK parts were used, though they would have been easier I think.

The dread CCW are indeed ork chain choppas, 2x for each, and the sentinel arm had the chainsaw removed and replaced with the double length ork choppas.

The buzz saw is actually from the ork killa kans, or deff dredd.

I agree! I hope I can eventually use them in the new codex, with blood claw equivalents, one dread cleaned up 23 guardsman in one round of combat!

Keep practicing, reading forums and watching tuts, also have the confidence to try new things.

Haha, awesome, they just got dubbed "stampy"

The recent tournament forced my hand and I painted these just in time to use them, unfortunately I was unable to finish the infantry in time :(

Twins

Pods

Not alot of pics of these, because the pods are the same from every angle, and the dreads look the same from behind as the other 2 did.

Thanks for looking.

I always wanted to see Chaos "counts-as" Blood Angels (I toyed with the idea myself awhile back but then Grey Knights were released and I had to choose)

Very well done. The dynamic poses, excellent painting, and seamless conversions give all your models a lot of character.

I can't wait to see more stuff!

That's awesome!!! I wish I could get results like that w/ mine. Usually they rage forward when I need them to shoot, or pointlessly blast away when I need them to move. I especially love it when they blast away at my Rhino full of Plague Marines. Oh sweet joy!

I'm running out of adjectives to use when describing your work. There's a group of *highly* talented modelers / painters on Dakka and you are one of them.

Thanks very much sir Mine don't do that thankfully, because I'm playing them as BA's. Blender dreads are tasty!

I'd love a how-to for the effect you get around the chaos stars on the dread pods.

It's not often you see a blog where there are equal amounts of creativity, modelling skills and painting. You've got all three in spades. Very inspirational indeed and I can forsee me robbing your dread ideas for future :p

Keep up the good work please, I've just got a whole new chunk of mini-pron out of this thread

The latest dreadclaws are very cool! Do the doors still open? I thought the top engine is usually held by the fins.

Dreads are awesome as always! Something seems a little off with the eyes, perhaps if you added a bit of Midnight blue opposite the brightest part of the eye, that would fix it. At the moment they look a little flat. Apart from that, they have blown me away, never knew someone could make the chaos dreadnought look good!

The doors are glued shut on these ones, it would only take alittle bit of extra work to get them to open if you did it yourself. You're right the engine is the mounting point for all the fins, engineering a replacement for that is all you'd need to do.
