Would you like to see Specialist games released as boxed sets a la Dreadfleet?
I'd buy every single specialist game if GW did this
I'd buy one or 2 specific games that I enjoy or am interested in
I have no interest in anything GW
While I enjoy GW, I'm not interested in Specialist Games

So it's quite simple. Would you like to see specialist games like 40k Epic and Mordheim etc released as boxed games in plastic like Dreadfleet, perhaps with resin supplemental models(in the case of Epic and Gothic)?

The games I would almost definitely buy if they were repackaged and re-released. I would definitely purchase them if they had an appreciable degree of aftermarket support, such as occasional new rules released online or in White Dwarf and subsequent miniature releases:

I don't have interest in Fantasy that much, so chances are I wouldn't get many of those. Space Crsuade, Dark Future, and Necromunda would all be sure purchases for me though.

What about the old board game, "Doom of the Eldar?" Anyone remember that? I won that at a 40K tournament like 10 years ago.

I wouldn't get them all, but the interest is there. I was really hoping that we would get Warhammer Quest instead of the pirates thing.

Hey, Boss, I didn't realize you were an old fart like me that you can remember Battlecars....

In Dark Future, I remember pulling a kamikaze stunt with my motorcycle on the last turn of the game specifically to deny my opponent the win. I put the remains of my bike halfway through his car....

Games I would be interested in are Mord, 'Munda and Hulk.

I have an old copy of WHQ, but an updated version might be cool. Especially if GW did a deal with Hirst Arts to sell their moulds (also a great thing for all the above games too ).

No! specialist games should not be box sets this limits what they can do. for instance imagine necromunda wirh only orkocs and goliaths? blood bowl with only humans and orcs. it just wouldnt be right. i'd love to see specialists get the attention they deserve but they dont sell as well as 40k or fantasy

They should release Necromunda again in this way if they are ever going to bring this game out. I think Necromunda and Mordheim need to both seriously be revisited. GW does not have any "skirmish" platforms any longer, other than the unsupported games from days of old. I won't be picking up fantasy or LoTR any time soon, too much of an investment. But I would buy a necromunda set and several gangs if they would support the game again. Considering this is the gap that a lot of GW's competitors are filling, I'm surprised they haven't repacked Necromunda really.

And I should qualify, it should be released in a boxed format like Dreadfleet, but should still be expandable in the same way that the original boxed set was.

Blood Bowl I'd love to see this as a new "Space Hulk quality" release, but as mentioned in my thread further down, I'd prefer to see it done with a range of new teams.

As for the others... Mordheim, Necromunda, Gorkamorka etc... I think the presence of free rules are sufficient for playing the games with the existing miniature range.

Actually the Gorkamorka rules aren't available in this respect are they?

Box sets, along with additional force booster packs? It would be a bit like getting IoB even if you intended to do a different army.

I'd buy Mordheim and all it's supplements. I'd probably start Gothic too as it seems fun.

Right here, along with a few other classics. This page is hidden even better than the other SG downloads for some reason.

I'm in two minds about it. On one hand, a focus on the specialist games would be nice. On the other hand, turning them into single-box releases with no expansion? Not such a fan of that idea.

That's why I want Quest. It can be self contained. Necromunda, Epic, Mordheim - they can't be.

Anything would be better then then what they think is "cool", now.

Not a fan of thier idea of how they pushed dreadfleet, it wasn't a good idea, and does no good in the way they pushed it.

Absolutely not.

There's nothing a re-release of Necromunda could add to the current (free) ruleset, other than an expensive "limited edition" box set and passing interest.

I'd be much happier if GW would sell the rights to these games to a company that would actually be willing to support these games, rather than have them linger in the background because they don't make $$$$$$.

They don't sell them because they think they will encourage people to play small games and not the big ones with big investment. They are hardly going to let someone else make them...

The poll is rather skewed, one could be interested in GW and not the specialist games being re-released. I'm kind of on the fence as it may be nice like SH was or complete crap like DF seems to be. Either way it'll likely be $400, sell out in 2 days then be $600 on ebay.

What was the name of the monthly publication that supported all the specialist games? If they brought that back then i think the specialist games could self support with community input.

Mordhiem, necromunda, and quest would be great to see. I managed to pick up space hulk wen it was rereleased to go along with my 2nd edition hulk.

It would be great that even if they didn't plan on producing expansions for the specialist games, that they at least weren't limited print.

Is it the card/mat printing that makes these games limited? Are these the only things that need to be outsourced?

Cheers.

I'm not suggesting 1 time box sets. I'd suggest a basic box set with resin expansions or warbands etc.

Good point that I didn't add a" I like GW but not SG" option.

In any case, whether it's a one-off or a "re-release with resin miniatures", what's the point?

Nearly all the current SG stuff has fairly nice metal models available for a good price, I fail to see what resin miniatures would add. Considering the early Finecast debacle, SG gamers would end up with fairly bland miniatures in a poorly cast medium for even more money than we're paying now.

All I'm saying is, from recent experience, GW hasn't really "innovated" any of their new SG release material, other than increasing the prices...

I mean release a game like Mordheim with 2 basic warbands in plastic, then offer the other warbands in resin outside of the basic box set. This is pretty much the same as box games for 40k and fantasy. And I say resin as GW is slowly stopping metal production.

Gorkamorka!
They have the sprues for trukks, buggies, boyz and nobz- all a new edition needs is packaging and a print run of the rules.

I have more orks that I can use already and, at the right price, I'd buy a new Gorkamorka box set in a heartbeat. It'd be great for new players to pair with Black Reach to start a force.
