If this is true, I will not be buying the new Ork codex (even the "cheap" one that costs $50). A game composed of "Limited edition unit entries" interests me even less than poorly-produced DLC. Have fun with pokemon40K, fellas.

Why would they make limited edition only units? Especially considering that the codex is limited edition.. Something that is only available in small quantities
They wont do it, pretty simple.

For a Boom Gun/Killkannon/equivalent, completely ridiculous.

-excited to hear dex is on way (hopefully),
-data slates automatically made me think of the 2nd ed vehicle cards lol. I know that they are more of an apoc thing but still..
-ork specific cards. i didn't have the first set so buying these is fine with me. For those who bought the cards, can't you just sleeve them and make copies of the ork specific ones? Chances are maelstorm will not be used in tournaments anyway from what i hear.
-has anyone heard if painboyz will be an hq choice, like you buy a selection of them and you can put them in squads? Would love to see that happen, i have a bunch of 2nd ed painboy models and i don't want to make them slugga boyz =/

My hope is that they will be elites, like blood angels sanguinary priests, and take in pairs or trios which you can then assign to other units afterward.

The rumor mentioned a "Warboss Edition" of the codex. The rumor mentioned that the rules for Ghaz would only be available with this edition. So..
I also used the little phrase, "If this is true...," so no one is jumping the gun. I haven't sold all my Orks and ragequit or any other reactionary hyperbole.

So a bit disappointed from what i just heard. Looters got moved to heavy support. Flashgits and Kans stay there. So the new Gorkamorkanaut, kans, dreads, flashgits, mekguns, and battlewagons compete for a spot.
On the bright side, i think Tankbusters lost the utterly stupid "shoot at vehicle out of range" rule.

I think it is more likely they will follow the micro-HQ setup with a set number per FOC.
Priests and Primaris psykers are 0-3 per FOC. Commisars are 1 per command squad.
Painboyz might be a 1 per nob/meganob/flash git type of a thing or just a straight number allowed to be placed as desired.

I don't think he said "only." Past limited editions (e.g., Sigmar's Blood) have contained a combination of volumes otherwise separately available.

If we're all entertaining the idea of all rumours being true, ima make one up now. The ork codex that will be released this saturday will not have orks in it. The ork units will be replaced with Squat units.

If they lost Glory Hogs...I'm not sure there would be a reason not to take lots of Tankbustas! I think they'd become the new Lootaz.

Was Sigmar's Blood an Army Book or WFB supplement with army lists? There is a difference. But, you are correct, Ghaz may just end up as an overpriced dataslate like Cypher. Still, including a printed supplement with a LE codex is new for GW, so I think you may be reading into things, too.

Hm. Looted Wagons datasheet...interesting.
Although it is worth noting that the White Dwarf Datasheets aren't generally just one unit, but rather some kind of a formation.

There were codex rumours saying there would be theee editions: Regular, Warboss, and Limited. But with these new rumours saying that the Warboss edition will have special unit entries, it's more likely to be a regular supplement book and NOT a limited editon version as people seem to be speculating.
EDIT: Holy moly. Looks like a LW formation to me, since all the new rules have been put into the WD's, while the only old unit still runs on the current rules.
But hey, look! A plastic Mek! It's weird that he's on a 25mm base, unless the Mek is now a standalone unit, similar to speculations about the Painboy, and can be added to a mob. Then Big Meks are bosses, which is interesting.

Might not even necessarily be a supplement book like we're used to, but rather another "Apocalypse: Warzone" book.
Those come with Datasheets.

I wonder if the Mek will come with Grot Oilers on the sprue? That would be great.
I'm kinda into the Datasheet, as someone who has....many lots of Looted Tanks I'm hoping it's an Orky VDR, as has been rumored since the LAST codex came out.

One of the earlier pictures of the Ork Mek has him with a Cybork cutting arm which looks suspiciously close to the cutting arm of the Painboy.
I'm wondering if this new Mek will be some kind of dual kit to make either a Mek or a Painboy. Part of me says "Of course not" simply because certain main body items on the Mek such as the apron with the tools in it wouldn't really apply to the Painboy. But we'll see.
I'm moderately excited about Mega Blasta pistols though, that's pretty cool. I hate "Get's Hot" weapons with the Orks though. With Space Marines, it's not that bad. You have a pretty good hit chance compared to the 16% misfire chance, and if you DO misfire, you've got a 66% chance to negate the wound.
On an Ork though, you have a really BAD chance at hitting with the weapon. Your chance to hit is only twice as good as your chance to misfire the weapon! Then on top of that, you're almost guaranteed to suffer a wound because of the Ork T-Shirt save.
