Don't know if this is the right place to post this, if it's not just tell me where to go and I'll delete this thread.
That being said I actually have two related questions. While looking through the IG codex I saw that the Vendetta was just a modded Valk and the codex mentions that there are other types of modded Valk out there as well. This brought to thoughts to my mind, first: is there a Valk out there that is modded in the same way that the C-130 Gun Ship is?

That thing has a 105mm howitzer and a 40mm Cannon, I think that you be equivalent to a Vanquisher battle cannon and a Punisher gatling cannon (this is probably just wishful thinking)

If there is not already a standard variant out there, am I allowed to make my own? Can I just slap weapons onto a Valk and come up with some obscure mathematical equation to figure out its point value? To be honest, I really just want to reign (more) death from above. Thanks in advance

Sincerely, Your useless NUB

HIDING IN METAL BAWKSES!

Well, for starters, the Valkyrie is too small for that.

Yep its called a Thunderhawk.

Dont think the IG have anything like the C-130 due to having battleships in orbit most of the time

They do have something that can be considered along the line of the c-130, well it might be more accurate to classify it similar to the a-10 then the c-130. Forgeworld Imperial Armour books are what you want to look through, those and Apocalypse.

Marauder Destroyer

Marauder Bomber

Thunderbolt Heavy Fighter

Those I believe are the 3 best candidates for what your looking for. Keep in mind they are not meant for normal games.

Currently, there is nothing that is equivalent to the AC-130 gunship, but now that you have mentioned this I'm going to be figuring out ways to convert a Valk kit into gunship. THEN figure out rules for it. I imagine a 105mm howitzer would probably be a battle cannon. then a autocannon, and finally a punisher gatling gun. That is what I would imagine this would be like. Points I'd say this would have to be an apocalypse unit probably around 230 points.

Howitzers are more artillery than a tank gun. 105mm would probably be more along the lines of a smaller version of an Earthshaker (probably like a 155mm howitzer). There really isn't anything in the IG codex that fits a 105mm.

Maybe something like: S7 AP4 12"-48" Large Blast Barrage (or maybe even just make it S8 so it's like a battle cannon in artillery form)

Which is more like a Griffon so honestly doesn't have that big a place in the codex.

The stats are what I needed help figure out, that and the point value. For the model, I would just try until I got something that worked. Probably glue one door shut and use the heavy bolter arms as support, have both weapons pointing out the same side. Its going to have to wait a while before I actually try though, I would have to buy a new Valk just for this and I don't want t do that just yet.

Anyways, thanks for the help.

I don't think a Valk chassis is going to cut it. Probably more like the size of a thunder hawk

The Vulture (the Valkyrie gunship) pays 50pts for the punisher cannon if that helps.

This should probably be in P&M, but here are a couple of example from Dakka of the past:

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

There really isn't an equivilant to the AC-130 gunship beside the Thunderhawk(and the Thunderhawk really only makes strafing runs, it doesn't stand off at a distance and pound with ordinance)
