Subject: Replicators invade the Warhammer 40K galaxy
Decided to invade the Warhammer 40K galaxy? The Replicators start off with the Replicator Cruiser. Do you think that the Replicators could take over the 40K galaxy? Or could the 40K galaxy survive?

I don't think the IoM would have a hard time dealing with a bunch of ships that look like they're made out of Legos. Then again, I didn't hear about the Replicators until just now so my opinion probably isn't very valid.

The replicators are robots that make more of themselves, are intelligent and eventually develop human-from nanite based raplicators, they see material, they eat material, they make more of themselves, they see material, they eat~
They're also immune to energy weapons after a few shots.
I think it would be an interesting fight if we were to send them against the 'nids. They are essentially the same only it's mech vs organic. But the evolutions that survive... those would wipe out the rest of the galaxy if not nuked quickly enough.

I don't think the tyranids and replicators would have much hate on eachother, if anything they would be a perfect symbiosis. IE replicators land and eat all the metal, Tyranids land and eat everything else
They really don't have any quarrels. I think the best defense against them would be muscle or daemons. basically orks bashing them or daemons wanting to keep their followers alive.

Tau and IoM would get messed up hard. Marines and Orks would stand a decent chance if they could get a big enough WAAAGH! going or if plenty of chapters get together.
They would need to find and stop the infestation early, once they assimilate enough raw material and aqquire a foothold (spawning a 'queen') they would be like rats, hiding in the walls eating out the wiring, and piping. They'll hit the local populace in the power services and whatnot.
Once they've taken a city (which would only take a few days) they're going to be pretty much impossible to get rid of, an exterminatus would be required, and even then that might not do it, especially if it's spread enough and they've found the appropriate material to make human-form replicators from nanites.
They can create starships out of themselves, they can aqquire and control just about any technology.

Replicators would ignore the Tyranids. Excepting being lead by a Human-form Replicator, they invariably attack mechanical technologically advanced races to assimilate their technology. Biotech isn't their prerogative unless a Human-form wished to use it to become biological.

I honestly think that if the replicators were to reach nanite level technology and create human form replicators, a good portion of the 40k races would be screwed, largely because in the TV show, the Human form replicators proved to be very intelligent, devious and capable of sentient thought.
Also no one has mentioned this yet but in one of the SG:SG1 Movies, the replicators were able to take control of a human (via replicators grafting to his brain). What makes factions like Orks/Tyranids at a disadvantage is that the replicators could use this method to take over a Nob/Squigoth/Hive Tyrant to assist in pacifying any resistance.
The only faction IMO who could truly take on the replicators would be Daemons.

It might work but it doesn't take into account the wllingness of the Imperium in exacting Exterminatus their own planets...
If an Inquisitor can call it in in time the invasion would stop on a single planet.

The problem I see is it often takes weeks, if not months for imperil forces to react to a threat, so by the time they get there the replicators will have a decent enough foothold, and will likely have made it offworld already.
IoM does have one serious advantage over, say, the asgard - they still have a number of solid projectile weapons. Yes, there's a fethload of lasguns out there which will do precisely squat, but there's a fair number of autoguns & bolters to tear up infestations with. Additionally, off-world travel's not nearly as fast in 40k as it is in SG1, so a quarantine might actually be easier to effect. Couple that with a willingness to just crack apart infested planets with cyclonic torpedoes (not to mention vortex weapons), and the IoM, while having a rough time of it, would likely fair considerably better than the asgard did. The tau, on the other hand, are just plain fethed,
