So we've had one for games, soundtracks, stories and even kills. Yet I don't remember seeing one for characters in games. To keep it simple this can even include things like mechs/planes/cars/etc in their respective genres.
I'll kick it off. Though by staying away from the obvious such as Mario, Sonic, Cloud, Link, Blues etc.
5. Zaku Warior Live Concert Version - Rengou vs Zaft II Plus.
As it's somewhat difficult to play as I couldn't find any gameplay controlling it.
Take a mass produced mech, paint it pink and remove most of it's weapons and you get this hilarious mech. Its only weapon are grenades, where others would have a cannon or such it dances. As the only support mech in the game its dancing assists the allies by making their super bar drain slower. It's main form of attacking is it's kicks, which are better off used to counter the enemy, same as the grenades as they travel somewhat slowly and in an arch. For the few from the Mechwarrior thread, winning with this is like the Urbanmech comic.
4. Imperial Legion Solider - Oblivion.
Simply with most of the glitches and such they serve as either comic relief or some way to keep the game playable longer. The second you do anything wrong, you're spun around and greated with their famous line.
3. Enderman - Minecraft.
Basically they're the most interesting mob in the game currently. They can be annoying at times due to placing down blocks and even more annoying to kill due to their warping. But out of the aggressive mobs they seem to be the most harmless as they remain passive until you look directly at them.
2. Sentry Turret - Portal.
Probably the best video for it as well.
The turret is one of those memorable enemies I've come across in games. Pretty unique and was always fun to come across them, sometimes even taking my time whereas with other enemies you'd blow up a huge amount of them and move on. Turret demanded attention.
1. Squirtle/Blastoise - Pokemon.
I started gaming first back with super mario on the NES, however Pokemon Blue was both my first RPG and game I had saved up for and brought. My brother got Red and chose Charmander, while I got Blue and Squirtle and we raced each other throughout the series having battles as we progressed. As we kept going through the series I stuck with water while he stuck with fire and we pretty much continued on from where the last left off. However Squirtle/Blastoise remained my favorite of the water starters and if possible I would always transfer a Squirtle over to the new game; usually replacing whatever there was. Rather than keeping the high level I'd make a new Squirtle and use that through the story; leading to a few high leveled Blastoises around, though generally only one 100 per generation which if able was transfered over with other high leveled ones once I had finished the story.
1. Tali from mass effect 1 & 2 because don't call me sick or sad but I think she is hot.
2. My Black Templar assault marine on the Space Marine game because I love the elite armour pack.
3. Scorch from star wars republic commando because he is funny.
4. Wesker from Resident evil because he is so cool.
5. Scorpion from all the mortal combat games because his armour rocks, Fatalitys are mint, Moves are brutal and the best of all his line 'spear throw "GET OVER HERE!"
Tali'Zorah: I appreciate what you're doing here, Shepard.
Commander Shepard: Well, I care deeply about the quarian people.
Tali'Zorah: It's good to be back on the Normandy.
Commander Shepard: Let me know if it's too quiet for you to sleep, and I'll find you someplace louder.
Tali'Zorah: Hmm.
Garrus Vakarian: Uh, I was there when you two had your thing, remember? Just get a room and work it out.
Kane - Command and Conquer Series Basically the central figure of the storyline of C&C proper. Assuming that the abomination that is C&C never existed, Kane is a mysterious figure that seems unkillable and unaging. His main weapon is diplomacy and charisma. He is, for all intents and purposes, the equivalent of the Emperor of Mankind.
Alyx Vance - Half-Life Series A loyal character. Friendly to the extreme and clever at times. Although Gordon Freeman doesn't speak, Alyx handles all the times when speaking would matter. Masterfully done from the geniuses at Valve.
Edwin Odesseiron - Baldur's Gate Series Cynical and borderline maniacal. He is "Lawful Evil" done right. He's a genius and he knows it. He is also not inconsistent in his evil. He simply approaches problems with a morally questionable mindset and isn't above getting his hands dirty. In spite of this, he ends up being really classy and surprisingly... loyal...
Nameless One - Planescape Torment Your character in the game. This is a weird one. Your goal in the game is to find out what it is that makes it so you cannot die. On the way, you can convince the world (a single city) that an individual exists and thus fabricate an actual entity. You encounter pregnant alleyways. You meet manifestations of letter. Ultimately, YOU may be immortal but your allies and party members are not. Your biggest way to 'lose' is to piss off the godlike ruler of the city, the Queen of Blades, so she exiles you eternally into a maze; otherwise the Queen of Blades is not a major player in the storyline.
Victor Sullivan - Uncharted Series He's Drake's perfect foil. He may drop the "i'm getting too old for this" once per game, but he never follows up with it (for the better). The third game basically sums it all up nicely that Sully would go to the ends of the world for Drake... just don't ask him to.

She's a 40 year old woman who still thinks of herself as a 12 year old girl. By the end of the series, she's killed more people than you have trying to find/stop her, all of it done in terrible, nasty ways. When you learn of her back story, you can't help but feel sorry for the lass; she's been experimented on, raped, been impregnated twice, and even been killed; she just refuses to die.
4: Rick Taylor.
Rick's a College kid who has a girlfriend who is widely considered "Too Hot for Him", but she stays with him anyway. So when she gets kidnapped by Doctor Henry West and Cthulu's buddies, what does he do? He puts on the Terror Mask and becomes a bloodsoaked killer to get her back. He kills thousands of enemies, all the while losing his sanity in a noticable way.
3: The Master Cheif (ONLY the first Halo)
You are the last of your kind; built for combat, bred for war. I only liked him in this one because he is supposed to be You, not actually the Master Cheif.
2: Dante
You know those guys who can run their mouth 70 miles per hour and back it up every step of the way? Dante is THE badass that every other character wishes they could be. Alas, he may be bumped down a notch if Capcom has their say.
1: Emperor Doviculus
Voiced by Tim Curry.
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.
1: Leon from Resident evil series
2: Pyramid head from Silent Hill series
3: Nemeroth from Space Marine
4: Gordon Freeman from Half life series
5: Gabriel Angelos from Dawn of War series
1. Bernard from Manic Mansion/Day of the Tentacle
2. Guybrush Threepwood
3. Either Soap or Captain Price from Modern Warfare (both great characters IMO)
4. Tommy Vercetti (GTA Vice City)
5. Sam and Max
Vivi (FFIX) Now I'm a straight guy but he has to be the cutest game character ever!!!
The adoring fan (Oblivion) A 4ft nothing idiot that you can do whatever you like with
Sander Cohen (Bioshock) What's better than a nutter who likes to kill people then pose them papier mache?
Cole Train (Gears) Beast. Full stop.
Edgar Vautrine (Oblivion) people want cheap and he's got cheap!!
@ Fafnir, I really think that it's unfair for us MGS fans to have to pick only one favorite character... I went with Solid, just because really.... I mean, Ocelot Revolver, Vulcan Raven, and Psycho Mantis are all just as "cool" imo.
1. Heavy - TF2
Because who doesn't love a "big angry bear that hates people", speaks russian, eats sandwiches and fires a minigun?
2. Gabriel Angelos - DoW games he features in.
This guy is pretty much Awesome. Great voice acting and a decent plot to his background.
3. Kronk - Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
The most angry techmarine-ish robot you will ever meet. Swearing, sarcastic, and downright funny.
4. Sub-Zero - all Mortal Kombat games
Because being an Ice Lord is cool (ba-dum-tish).
5. Knuckles - all Sonic games he features in.
In any Sonic game, if I got to play as Knuckles I always had fun and played as him the most. Something about a badass hothead who likes beating things up is too good to pass up
I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.

Well, I always liked the boss a lot, but after writing a portion of one of my university papers on her, I came to like her a lot more.
In no order. Barney Calhoun ( i am not sure his second name is even mentioned in HL2 lol) Arbiter (Halo 2 mainly, though he had some good lines in 3) KEITH DAVID! Stranger/Steef Garrus Vakarian (the only bioware character i have really engaged with, and it is mainly because he has the COOLEST face, like, ever) James Marston
Runners up: Gaz Captain Price Eddie Price Jack Carver from Far cry instincts (Love the descent into beastliness portrayed in this game) Naked Snake

1.Kane from the original C&C. In the original, he was distant, until the 4th mission. Which was cool actually. He's unkillable, but only evil because he actually foresaw the scrin, which was interesting, and ultimately, the NOD were in the best position to defeat the scrin.
2. Kyle Katarn from Dark forces 1, before he became a force wielder. Vunerable, loyal but morally....
3. Horned reaper from Dungeon Keeper one. Just pychotic.
4. The Zabatsui boss in Grand Theft Auto 2.
5. Either Adrian Shepherd or Barney from Half life. Both have interesting storylines behind them, and both betrayed who they worked for...
5. Johhny touchdown (no more heroes) he's just so awesome looking for a guy obsessed with moé anime girls.
4. Isaac clarke (dead space 1 & 2) he's the type of hero games need more of, the type that doesn't always turn out alright in the end.
3. Little sister (bioshock 2) they're just too cute, especially what they say when you put them down to gather the adam. It's a shame I always harvest them.
2. joe capelli (resistance 3) he's basically a herowith the background of a villain, after killing hale, he was dishonorably discharged from the military. Resistance 3 is an awesome game.
1. Taokaka (blazblue) who doesn't love a cute energetic catgirl?
captain fantastic wrote: Seems like this thread is all that's left of Remilia Scarlet (the poster).
1.) Cloud Strife (pretty obvious)
2.) Goku
3.) Kira Yamato
4.) Wanderer (From Shadow of the Colossus)
5.) Titus :( Dam you square enix for making a Final Fantasy X-2 but no titus!!!
