Not where I should be

Thank you all.

Indeed the stair thingy has been done before and probably a lot better, by RedHarvest and I believe OneManNoodle also did one.

I am getting to the stage of a few tags, but first up here is a little progress...

Vik, you asked before about the extra at the top, well that was slack for me to put in some structural work so the individual floors can be removed independently.

Still a bit rough, but it works and I will get the kinks out soon.

More bathroom antics, this time I made several "pods" that I could then slip into the building sections.

Also made the roof...

And so the building is looking like this at the mo.

While I was waiting on painty drying, got a few scraps together and started on another piece, this will be for scenery but as you will see it has a heavy influence from some film or other...

Because I am impatient I often use this stuff...

It sets in 5 minutes rock hard and can be sanded etc. but it is only workable for a couple minutes to start with.

And while puzzling about the leg joints remembered this little gem from a car boot sale...

So five minutes fiddling..

Started to add details...

And this is as far as tonight goes.

It is inspired by rather than an actual copy. I think a wreck of this kind fits quite well with what I am aiming for with the infinity stuff.

As always Thank you so much for looking and all comments are gratefully received.

That's really cool how you are making the floors modular and interchangeable. It shows what precision you build with that you can't even tell it comes apart once you put it together.

Great looking Think-Tank there Cam! That would work well with the Infinity stuff.

Nice job with the modular hab-pods too

I like the walking ladybug tank , it’s cute, but reminds me of the spider from Wild Wild West, though I’m on a western kick as you have seen .

Camkierhi,

That is quite the tower you have built there. The removable floors is a neat idea, but how do figures fare when on a floor that gets pulled out?

Cheers,

Not where I should be

Thanks folks. Means a lot.

@ Syro, Thanks bud, I am not really that good, just quite good at covering it up.
@ monkeytroll, Thanks bud.
@ Theo, can see where you are coming from, looking forward to seeing plenty of the Wild west from you soon.
@ neil101, thank you so much and great to see you about.
@ Klaus, thank you master, much inspiration from many sources, later here you might see how much of a "fan" I am.
@ Gits, Thanks bud. And yes thats the main influence I think.
@ CB, Thanks bud, yeah going to try and get them to glide in and out, but as Red said you dont tend to move stuff with stuff in place.
@ Red, thank you sir, much appreciated.

Bit more on the spider tank...

Main guns..

Fan straight out of KlausNotSanta designs...

Quick scale shot...

Then started to add paint....

And with his "hair piece", which I am going to leave removable so it can be maybe used later, but this would be in a normal game in place to say this thing is broken.

Thank you all so much for the comments and all of you who visit for a look.

i see....the tower is basically a shoe box shelf...clever idea! with pull out drawers....

also...since living in a former soviet controlled country...the style you achieved is on point! just the right amount of despair and depression put into colour and shape!

and just when you think you´ve achieved amazing...you chuck out a spider tank...well played....

Ooh. The green is a shade brighter than I'd anticipated, maybe hit it with a camo wash or similar? Just to get closer to a Russian military green? Also, perhaps some oil staining around the joints. Regardless, it's ever so good.

Not where I should be

Thanks guys.

@ Graven, think you are right I might do that, but happy enough for now.

So now for something completely different, and I mean off the scale different.....

HELP!!! Friend of mine has asked for some 10mm Ancient Rome scale buildings......no worries...........

So just a couple quick knock ups this evening just rying out a few bits....

Little white dude is 10mm high for scale.

I have designs in mind no worries, but how big are these things, looking it up on the net, looking at 80mm x 50mm is a normal house, but by scale that would be 16m (52 feet) that seems quite large, or is it, really not sure. My house which is a large family home, quite modern is 10m front to back and 6m wide. Mmmm.

So any of you guys who might be into this lot please shout up, what buildings do you have how big are they, in game what do you actually want. Walls fences, forts lots of buildings?

Thanks for looking and hope you guys can help.

I’d hit up Maniac_nmt, he has done similar and I think does some 10mm stuff.

Otherwise how I usually find things is checking some of the websites that sell similar and usually they have the sizes listed in the description. I just checked oldglory and 4ground, but neither of them have sizes or correct types of buildings.

Theo beat me to it, I was going to suggest asking Maniac_nmt also. I wouldn't worry too much Cam, you have an artistic eye, I'd just go with what looks right to you. I don't think building are ever their true size in war games anyway so they don't take up too much space.
What types of buildings are you going for, scattered farms where the armies are meeting or more city proper?

Woo, I'm infamous! I pm'd you Cam with some useful links. Mostly it depends on the game system and basing style, but usually at 10mm terrain isn't interacted with heavily (unless running speciffic game scenarios) in the same way you do at 28mm.

Here's a farmstead with orchard in the snow I did for Warmaster. The road is sized so that a unit could march through in column formation, but the odds it would ever get used that way are slim to none.

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

Then my castle (old wip picture is below, I can pulll a finished picture with a unit on it as well as a single unpainted model if you like) is sized so that you can get siege equipment in the towers, or entire units down the length of the walls.

Spoiler:

For Warmaster, we will often use lichen and scatter it to make shrub areas on the map, and that works really well and requires no work.

PM me again if you have any other questions.

Camkierhi,

That spider tank reminded me of the one of the old Battletech Mechs, except it had two legs I think, cannot recall the name of it now.

Looks quite different when painted.
