Hiya Dakka!

I just had a thought as I was paroozing around dakka, has anyone every collected an ENTIRE space marine chapter...
I just think that would be so cool to be able to say "ya I can field the entire ultramarine chapter, nbd"
Has anyone else had thoughts/wants/aspirations of doing this?

P.S. I know that one member, I believe he goes by Horst, has got a few battle companies of the Aurora Chapter under his belt.

Some one on here has an entire chapter. Saw it once in the blog or showcase forums. Maybe I'll find it or someone will, but I know its out there, and its impressive.

Yea, I currently have about 2 companies of aurora chapter under my belt.

I'm working on getting more all the time! Though maybe I'll start a new army after I finish painting what I got :(

Though it does depend what chapter.
My DIY Chapter only has 400-600 marines with some of those operating vehicles...

Id be close if you counted my Inquisition stuff but pure gk I have like half.

I have a whole company (reinforced), but that's about as far as I'm willing to go, lol.

Truly fielding an entire Chapter, Thunderhawks included, would be pretty freakin' absurd, lol. This guy comes close though. He's got transports, tanks, etc.

I'd like to see an entire regiment...
Armoured, artillery, veteran, mechanised, regular or otherwise...
Would be nice.

The Thunderhawks alone would be about $19,000, lol.

I don't know about chapter, but GW was selling the entire deathwing company a while back (100 terminators + like 5 land raiders) for around $1200.

As for an entire chapter cost....

1st company - 100 terminators @ $100 per 10, $1000
2nd company - 5th company - 60x4 tac marines @ $33 per 10, 20x4 assault marines@ $66 per 10, 20x4 devastators@ $55.5 per 10, $792+$528+$444 = $1764
6th company - 100 biker marines - 100 bikes @ $15 per bike = $1500
7th company - 100 tactical marines - 100 tac marines @ $33 per 10, $330
8th company - 100 assault marines - 100 assault marines @ $66 per 10, $660
9th company - 100 devastators - 100 devastators @ $55.5 per 10, $555
10th company - 100 scouts - 100 scouts @ $50 per 10 - $500

for just infantry, we are at $6,309

Lets add in vehicles now.

4x thunderhawks, @ $700 each - $2800
10x land raiders, @ $62 each = $620
30x predators, @ $47.5 each = $1425
30x land speeders, @ $25 each = $750
30x rhinos, @ $33 each = $990
20x razorbacks, @ $35 each = $700

We are at $7,285 in vehicles.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that one of their first big Gamesday displays was the entire Ultramarines chapter which was also the first time the Thunderhawk model appeared.

I have only got a couple of pics from when it was on display at Nottingham, they aren't so good and don''t convey the total size of the display.

I'm within spitting distance of a complete company of Crimson Fists - just need to get 10 more assault Marines and paint 10 more devastators! A whole chapter is pretty ludicrous, but I respect people who can pull it off.

I'm sure there was someone on Dakka who had 100,000 points of Guards and Marines... Can't find their thread though.

My brother has a pretty good start for his DIY chapter. Id say hes probably half or more? I know hes made up SEVERAL companies with what he has

Friend of mine once had about 7 companies of Dark Angels.

I’ve got about 4 companies of Marines (200 Marines, 100 Terminators, 100 Scouts).

Not a marine player but last few yrs been building up nid army, atm on 18,000 points with around 30-40 MCs, and alot of gaunts... but a full marine chapter would be cool esp a grey knight one 600 odd terminators would be amazing to see.

Im wondering does the chapter have to be at full strenght because i know there are quite a few that are just a few hundred strong, as for instance the sould drinkers (i know they're renagades), the flesh tearers, i know after the small chapter war the blood angels called upon their successors asking for intiates, also i think there are a couple chapters that exceed the chapter stantards like the templars.

GW did sell a Chapter kit for a while. It use the pictures from the 3rd Ed. Marine book , but not the second image (they only included a single Thunderhawk while the pic had 2 shown).

I think it'd be a lot of fun to walk into a store and challenge everyone to face your chapter lol.

that would be epic- a 5/6/7/8vs1 battle where an entire chapter faces an alliance of other armies

an entire guard regiment would be cool, but virtually impossible. 50'000 to 100'000 minies? not counting tanks/transports/valkyries?

an entire battallion on the other hand (several companies) would be plausible.

My wife would kill me, but I would definitely love to recreate our first unit, in an IG army.. This would be 3 Cavalry squadrons.. each squadron having a command company, 3 "scout" companies, a "heavy" company, an artillery battery, and a "specialist" company. The 4th Squadron is all support (not sure how to represent that in TT) and the final squadron would be nothing but flyers... the army would be freakin epic if i can pull it off
