I have been trying to make a sort of unified Ork army using Ghazghkull as my HQ. What this means as I'm trying to have a decent representation of each of the main Ork clans while still keeping them fluffy. So I have a few ideas already kicking around and I was wondering if people could let me know if they think the clans fit with the units and give any suggestions they might have. So far I have:

Ghazghkull: Goff
Big Mek 1 & 2: Bad Moonz? Not sure where else they would fit
Weirdboy: Snakebites
3 Boyz squads: 1 Goff, 1 Bad Moonz, 1 Snakebites
Kommandos: Blood Axe
Warbikes: Evil Sunz
3 Trukks and Battlewagon: Evil Sunz (or Bad Moonz for the Battlewagon?)
Lootas: Deff Skulls (or Badmoonz?)
Stormboyz: Evil Sunz?
Looted Wagon w/ Boomgun: Bad Moonz or Deff Skulls?
Deff Dread: Bad Moonz?
Killa Kans: Bad Moonz?
Gretchins: Snakebites
Nobz: Have 5, figured I'd do one of each main clan, as sort of 'ambassadors'

Any thoughts or opinions would help greatly! I'm hoping to get a lot of painting done over the Christmas break

Seems a bit odd that Ghaz would be the only Goff (other than the single Nob) - I'd be tempted to at least make e.g. a big mek and the battlewagon and the whole nob unit also Goff.

Your clan choices seem reasonable, but i'd definitely make the lootas and looted wagon as Deff Skulls, plus any other vehicles which use lots of looted bits.

Consider too doing something to link the whole army together, e.g. all the orks are wearing checkered armbands to show their allegiance to Ghaz.

Thanks for the feedback! I like the idea of giving them checkers or something to sort of add a cohesive element to the army.

I do have a 20 strong boyz squad that is Goffs as well. I might take your tip on making the battlewagon Goff's colours, but I'd like the Big Meks to both appear coherent (plus I love Bad Moonz ).

Maybe do the Stormboyz as Blood Axes?
Seems like it'd go right with the military discipline
For the Dred and Kanz, I'd suggest Bad Moonz, Evil Sunz, or Goffs

Also, can someone clarify my perception of Bad Moonz? I know they are the wealthiest clan but are they characteristically the techiest (e.g. Big Meks and machines) or are they more characteristically mercenary, wealth seekers like Flash Gitz and Badrukk? Thanks!

Good point, traditionally Blood Axes are more likely to be Storm Boyz than other clans.

Bad Moonz aren't necessarily more techy, just more likely to be able to buy cool techy stuff. So i wouldn't see them as likely to have more meks, but certainly more likely to have Flash Gits or anyone else with Too Much Wargear

I've always heard using fewer colours ties an army together.
