Hey guys,

I know this might seem a silly questions, but also these are the kind of questions you always wonder what people will reply.

The question is:

Who is the strongest, nastiest and most deadly warhammer character that you ever played with or against?

My top 5 is the following:

1- Archaon Mounted
2- Teclis
3- Malekith on Black Dragon
4- Grimgor
5- Malus Darkblade

Cheers.

Do you mean on the table or fluff wise?

Because fluff would be Grimgor. He walked up to Archaon, backhanded him with an axe, then headbutted him into unconsciousness.

Oh, wait, GW retconned that campaign to "never happened" status.

As he said played with or against, I'm guessing tabletop.

In which case,

With - Hellebron in the older editons, (3rd or 4th I think? can't remember when it was, had the white haired Witch elf on the cover) back when being on a manticore and being armed with the Deathsword and parrying blade made opponents pack up and go home.

Against - Lord Kroak, damn he was a nightmare, never played him in 7th or 8th, but a couple of my run in's with him during 6th was ugly as hell.

Named Characters is going to have to be Archaon. T5, 5(10) attacks at Str5, 1+ armor, 3+ ward, never wounded on better then 3+. Total BAMF

If we include generic characters then I think the Doombull can possably compete here, when kitted out properly.

Oh, if it's just a challenge, Skarbrand is indeed stupid powerful. Though Archaon, because of his crazy magic items, is still likely better.

Agreed on the doombull, far scarier than most special characters IMO

As for Archaon, I've only faced him once ... and I fed him a fellblade for his troubles

Honestly I've faced very few special characters and just about never run one. It's only recently that tournaments are allowing SC, so they're just starting to show up in non-GT games around here. Looking to run Snikch myself, though I've run with and against Throgg before. If you ask me, Big T is just about broken for his points value, easily a 300 point character

Kholek and Throgg are both pretty good I think. Though I could be mistaken on Kholek.

Played with: The only special character I have ever used is Grimgor Ironhide in 7th. Mostly good for his Immune to Psych buff to his black orc unit.

Played against: Hmmm. Due to Irish Comp I have rarely ever played against a special character. Let me thiiiiink. Was there some bad ass treeman in the wood elf book back in 6th/7th? Because then, him.

Kholek's got some pretty sweet potential if you're going head to head. Obviously, he suffers in the presence of purple sun and pit.

Depends are you up against anything undead then Harry the hammer has his place on the list.

Archaon is pretty scary when it just a character battle.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Teclis is more scary when hes with an army because in a one on one teclis will most likely die fast.

If it's 1 v 1 on an open battlefield. I would put $ on Fateweaver or even a regular Lord of Change

Tzeentches firestorm and Bolt of Change would do just fine, in addition a 20 inch move to keep out of range, and if a regular lord of change you can even add flames of Tzeentch on a standard lord of change, and even if you were to make a charge you still charged a greater daemon.

In games I tend to think that FAteweaver is top of the heap, have the right spell for any situation. Speed to stay out of the way, able to do ok vs even a cannonball. (Pha's Protection + 3++ rerollable.)

After, Archaon had fight already with valten and other dude, and already had mortally wounded valten after the fight, when he was about to strike the killing blow Grimmgor came and knocked Archaon, making him retreat afterwards. So in all fairness he was beaten by 3 characters.

Although, considering 8th Ed is my first Ed of WHFB, and there's no longer any Herohammer, I suppose I probably wouldn't see a lot of SC anyway of the opponents I have yet to face.

So it's like Valten and the other guy loosened the jar lid and then Grimgor tapped it and it opened right up!

Archaon is, and has always been my favorite character in the WFB world. The pinnacle of Chaos on Earth.

In the belly of the whale.

Back in 7th, Kazrack the One Eye was really powerful and the ability to deploy most of your forces halfway up the tabletop was brilliant. But I doubt he could of gone toe-to-toe with the likes of Archeon and the like. From what I've heard and read, I'm surprised no-one has said Skulltaker. But yeah, Archeon all the way.

Khazrak is still pretty awesome. His armor makes magic weapons useless against him. His whip is awesome against hordes now too, since you get an attack for each model in the front rank so you go from 5 to 10 in an instant, unless they're monstrous infantry.

Taurox managed to smack down a number of things whenever me some buddies did little character showdowns.

A Treeman Anicent can be deadly if you kit him out correctly. In challenges you make the opponent hit only on 6s.
