Done.
I had little to go by for their length. I know their model base is a long oval shape that is longer than the standard infantry base and all I had on hand besides "Heavy Infantry bases" (termi's and the like) and HWT bases (Heavy Weapons teams, Sentinals, Dread's etc). I had a pair of Cavalry bases which I used for the TSA guys. Best estimates is the TSA base is its as long as 2 standard infantry bases side by side, give or take, the Cav base might be longer by a bit but the difference shouldn't be game breaking.
TSA #1 Nes-Schrott-1
TSA #2 Paston-Schrott-3
As for the other 2 Rangers. their "galvanic rifles" are just modded hotshot las guns with some bits and relocated cabling. They may not be clad in robes but it should be fine.

Mike along with the rest of his unit the 3rd Blood Bears had been assigned to guard the west wall of the Manufactorum from attack. The Blood Bears had been laying AT mines for days along with Heavy Bolter nests, Lascannon Nests and hull down points for their own tanks. The Major continued to gloat how the mines were spread in such a pattern that he had "brilliantly" devised that any armored assault, even by a mighty company of Baneblades would be foiled, the size of the mine field even prevented the tanks from getting in range so he claimed. Such "facts" had been beaten into the head of everyone around the crazed maniac, including Mike, but he was thankful to have been stationed in the bolter nest furthest from the moron, with an old Leman Russ next to him. Not that he could get away with saying such a thing even at this distance, Mike could swear that the Major had augmented hearing and the last man to say such a thing got a bolt from across the lines out of thin air. "The Imperium is attacking the north as planned! We hold here when their armor comes!" the lunatic barked into the vox. The approach of the Imperium's armor was heralded by the earth quaking underneath the 3rd's boots, ammo tins rattled and fell off shelves, canteens spilled everywhere, the dirt itself shook and quaked. A wall of metal seemed to materialize on the horizon, Tanks of different colors denoted at least 3 different armored regiments, one stood out from the rest with its silhouettes being far different from the other standardized look of the other regiments. As the Tanks advanced a cascade of explosions halted the legion of armor. As one the wall stopped and even a few tanks seemed to turn and look at the few others who had been damaged and incapacitated. The Tanks reversed away from the mines and stopped. The 3rd Blood Bears stared and the Tanks stared back.
The odd looking group of tanks parted and a strange, hobbling shape emerged from the multitudes of armor. Mike couldn't make out what this new thing was as it rolled(?) to the front of the wall of armor. Even from the incredible distance separating them Mike could hear the rumble of this new monster that had rolled to the front. The machine gave out a roar and smoke belched from its exaust, and all hell broke loose.
The roar of the hobbling thing was drowned out by the scream of jet engines as Valkyries soared over the wall, their occupants leaping out to land on the battlements. Mike fumbled for his binoc's to see the paratroopers. Peering up at the attackers he caught sight of a flash of red robs and the crack of rifles. "Skitarii on the battlements! heavy casualties!" the vox crackled. The 3rd Blood Bears clawed back at their new attackers, heavy bolters and lasguns turned up to the wall behind them and tracers and bolts streamed up at the red-clad tech warriors. As Mike watched the carnage, one of the Skitarii produced a rifle that was longer than he was tall but swung it around like it was a toy, taking aim right at mikes position. "DOWN! SNIPER!" Mike yelled as he dove into the dirt, the rifle make a crack the likes Mike had never heard in his life but it did something he never dreamed a mere rifle could do. The Leman Russ stationed next to Mikes bolter nest exploded into pieces, with something wet falling onto Mike's neck. In a panic he brushed off what most likely remained of the now exploded tanks commander. The Skitarii continued to systematically remove the entrenched tanks and even vaporize lascannon crews. The Vox was in chaos with the Major screaming orders to dead men who would not listen and those still alive too panicked to notice his ramblings.
Just as quickly as the Skitarii had struck they ceased their attack, vanishing into the walls battlements, leaving trails of dead behind them. The defensive line went silent with the cracking of the burning tanks and the insane Major still rambling on in the vox. A guttural roar brought everyone back to the waiting metal monster sitting ahead of the armored line. With another earth shaking roar it hurtled forwards into the minefield at full throttle. The metal behemoth plunged into the field and explosions began to detonate as it went. No matter how many mines it hit, mines that could detrack a Baneblade, it kept coming. The fire and smoke billowing around it framing its silhouette as it tore through the mines. As it got closer, those that opposed it could only stare in horror at its approach.
Mike noticed its locomotion, giant armored wheels with massive metal plates that withstood ever mine blast that it hit. As the roaring metal monster approached the first line of troops its turret let out a beltch of fire from its guns, spewing bolt rounds in a beam of tracers that vaporized anything it hit. "SOMEONE SHOOT IT ALREADY!" the Major screamed into the Vox.
Heavy Bolter tracers flew out of the trenches at the invading machine but did nothing to even scratch it, the lascannons had since been neutralized by the precise fire from the Skitarii. The machine answered back with its death beam rapid fire of bolter rounds, racking the lines back and forth. The Major on the vox went silent as the beam of rounds tore through his position. Mike continued in vain to fire his heavy bolter into the assaulting tank, hoping for something to end the nightmare. A mighty blast erupted under the tank again as it hit another AT mine, followed by a loud metal bang as something came loose. A huge 5 ton solid adamantium shoe flew from one of the tanks wheels and ended Mike and his Heavy Bolter.
Wheel Tank is done.
The real machine was built in WW2 to clear its way through land mines but allegedly test showed they were slow and if they hit an AT mine at speed there was a possibility of one of the shoes flying off, not to mention they were only armed with a PZ1 turret and machine gun. While obviously mine is much more heavily armed (with a Vulcan Mega Bolter and duel 50. cal stubbers in its hull) and armored, a flying 5 ton metal shoe would still flatten anyone. probably even a Space Marine
The Thunder Roller with its super charged engines (lore, not rules... if only...) and Vulcan Mega Bolter are a force to be reckoned with. Also I think an Air drop of skitarii would be a nasty maneuver to do to an opponent. I would probably use Rust Stalkers dropping them into enemy lines but dropping Rangers or Vangaurd on a point would make a mean objective holding team as they pick off anything that tries to approach and possibly snipe anything important.
of course besides using my scions as a proxy for a trial run I won't be able to test out the idea. Ill need a box of rangers and such. BUt first I think Ill get the VK4502 started/done.
ADD makes starting and staying on a project a pain.

I have finally gotten around to getting some skitarii forces. I managed to make 2.5 squads of troops. 1 10 man Rangers squad with the TSA AT rifles. 1 10 man Vanguard Squad with 2 Plasma Calviers and 1 Arc Rifle 1 5 man squad of Vanguard with 4 being from the original box and 1 made from a Tempestus torso and legs like the first 4 rangers, their special weapon(s) are an Arc rifle and pistol. I hope to eventually get my hands on the Cult Mechanicus units as well. I already have the Codex. I tested out a Skitarii-Knight-Armored Battle Group 1850 list (I think it was 1850, might have been 1500, it was a while ago) in a single battle with Ork player as an ally vs Salamanders and Imperial Guard (with a Knight) I had to leave in the middle due to personal reasons but my list managed to do a lot of damage and survive the attentions of a sterngaurd droppod (with like 10 combi-meltas), a Knight errant and a drop podded multi melta Dread amoung other things. I managed to fight back and do plenty of damage. I proxied 2 Vanguard squads with full plasma calviers and 1 full Ranger Squad with TSAs with my Onager, and 3 tanks. Now I have some genuine Skitarii troops and hope to get some more somehow alongside the Cult Mechanicus units. I keep imagining that fabled 1330 formation people keep going on about with Skitarii, Cult Mechnicus, and a Knight and a whole bunch of things like free upgrades and other stuff. but then add in my beloved tanks into it to make a 2000 list. or of course add in IG units like Valk's or Vendettas or other crazy things. I still wouldn't go to tournys or things. I don't have the patience or the rule memorization for that. not to mention my machines are modified so much.... Anyways... Ill get to other things like the other tanks and such. I have the hull of the VK4502B done (even after misplacing the directions. I just need to craft its tracks then mod the hull further into some semblance of a Dominus Bombard with 3 barrels and all that jazz...

Im not dead or down for the count. Not by a long shot. Life has been taking up all the time I have for my little war machines and my new job while it will help pay for future projects leaves me exhausted by the end of the day. I just don't have time to get to the local store for a battle and the times for battle conflict a lot. Ill get back into the swing eventually and the forges and the Vault will churn out more insane experiments and long forgotten war machines to fight in the Omnissiah's name. Skitarri and Mechanicus forces will walk alongside the most diabolical weapons imagined once again.
When Im not certain, but eventually.

Finally, some initiative to start again.
I got my Onager and a single vanguard painted. They were more a trail run on my skitarii paint scheme. blue, red, gold, etc
I personally like it.
I went to an apoc game. I didn't get into the game because I came really late but I did get a bunch of Krieg guys for cheap from one of the guys there. Its not exactly a full battalion but plenty of troops, 4 heavy mortars, 2 centaurs, 5 roughriders, multiple commissars, including a female commissar model etc. No tanks (centaurs are at best considered... gun carriers) but more troops is not bad. more of a buffer to protect the machines.
But its good to be back and building again. I'm sure I will again have a low point where I stop building. Its a cycle if nothing else. Anyways. I'm back to building and painting. I hope to get some games in at some point too.

I had an apoc match on the 30th. I had to leave in the middle due to family issue that poped up.
All I can say is I swear people don't seem to want to have fun in such things. My opponents pulled out the cheesiest of the cheese possible, covered in cheddar, mozzarella, brie and then some.
Everything invisible, splitting a Grey knights OP squad of OPness into 3 parts to attack 3 of my tanks all at once, a bike squad that was invisible with more psyker buffs than anything else (invisible, plus cover, plus better invul, plus better everything, etc), it was endless the sheer vast expanse of cheese.
Can't anyone have fun anymore? put away all the and just have massive amounts of giant tanks and troops just wallop on each other? meh, enough complaints.
I didn't manage to get all of my skitarii painted in time. Ill get a pic of the few painted guys up soon.
I order myself a Char 2C. The biggest thing on treads that is called a "Tank".
ya know...
This thing
I hope to widen the hull significantly. rough measurements put the Char hull at 29cm long, its longer than a Baneblade by at least 6 or so. I hope to build a tank I simply call the "Godhammer". A Battleship to the Stormhammers "destroyer".
The Solar Auxila stormhammer (one I saw at the Apoc game, I was not impressed honestly). in its book fluff likens it to a Destroyer or frigate (or some smallish ship of the Navy). How it can venture out by itself and still bring firepower to bear. Well, my Godhammer, besides being much bigger, will be armed much like a battleship with broadside gun turrets and many guns more guns. I have a pic or blueprint I sketched somewhere.
Anyways. Ill get to building it when it arrives (and I get the time).

I finnaly got off my butt and tinkered on something. Only a handful of skitari are fully painted with the rest bar one in their most basic of colors (red, blue and black). The last one isn't even based, I think he got lost in a box or under something and missed the basing process. A Chimera (or a Rhino with auto cannon turret and heavy bolter shoved into its hull) that's built for my Skitarii as a transport has been cobbled together after sitting around for months.
Pics.

The turret comes from a Dust Tactics Axis walker.
I origionally got the walker to see if the legs were the right size for something like a Russ, but ended up taking all the parts for various purposes. The turret is one of them.
The rest of the pieces will end up in different projects or maybe not at all.

Another round of a bit of tinkering.
A new "assault chimera".
Not sure what its fluff will be. But another piece of that Dust Tactic walker has been bolted to another machine. A Chimera hull I got from one of the regulars at my gaming store (in a pair of them). The other one will be built on soon.
Rear
A raised fighting compartment and radio array with spherical turret and twin Auto cannons. (Not twin linked obviously, just modelled as such and I can't change it without screwing up the turret).
I'm not sure what ill do to the other Chimera. Was thinking something like a remote turret with the auto cannon or something. Not sure what the rest of the tank will have on it besides gear and supplies
Chimera pair

Work has been a pain. Coming home exhausted doesn't give me the real initiative to build, even on little things.
But I did manage to pull together an Auto Cannon turret that is based on Remote turrets.
Note sure what Ill do to the rest of the Chimera. I think Ill just give it a bunch of gear, backpacks, ammo, etc like any good IFV.

Tinkered a little more.
The Remote Auto Cannon Turret now is equipped with a Coaxial (read: Pintle mounted) stubber and some gear on the sides. More details such as a few wires and a power cord for the search light.
Besides perhaps a handful of things to glue on the RC Turret Chimera is all set to roll.
I can't think of something off hand but I'm sure ill think of another bit or two to glue on somewhere.
I know I said I would start on the "Godhammer" made from the Char C2 but I got side tracked (surprise surprise).
Having figured out the Dust Tactics stuff finnaly. I'm gonna try my hand and make a Quadrupedal Knight Titan with 4 big stompy legs and a heavy chassis. I'm not sure what kind of Knight. I was thinking a Crusader or a Warden (chaingun + fist).
What the Chassis will be I havn't a clue, but Ill figure it out once I get time.

I am easily distracted.....
Instead of getting to work on the Quad legged Knight I got out the VK4502B hull I've had sitting around, finnaly put its treads on it and built it up into a Dominus Siege Bombard. ya know, that triple barreled, heavily armored Crassus variant that has like 3 ST10 shots in that artillery template and can fire once if it moves.
The Dominus is infamous for not having a model of it at all, the others the Crassus transport and its MLRS version have models from FW, the Dominus doesn't.
I saw one model of it that was built from a Mk4 WW1 tank that was really good, so I guess it made me want a Dominus of my own (My own Mk4 WW1 tank fell through, I can't remember where I put the model box and bits!). Either way, I built this thing over the weekend and a few hours during the week.
Its armed with the triple barreled Dominus mortar and a pair of HB sponsons on the front. I wanted Autocannons, if only because of their increased ST but I couldn't find barrels for them (and was too lazy to craft some when I found a pair of HBs).
The first pic has Skitarii and their new Chimeras for scale.
Ill keep tinkering away. Not sure what ill start on next after this Dominus is completed, I get side tracked too easily.

I bolted some armor, gear, and stuff to the Dominus
Extra Road wheels, armor plates + big rivets, ladders, hatches, a coupala and commander, vents, a rear door (from a Rhino), and a little exhaust pipe and more.
I don't think its 100% done with bitz BUT I do think its like 90% or 95% at least.
I not sure what the backstory will be. I know for a fact the Crassus was discovered "recently" and that like many things it was pieced together from essentially scrapes of a blueprint (yes I'm aware they are not called that). It could be an attempt to build a Dominus or it could be some other crazy thing. Ill have to think on it.

Shas T'olku Mont'yr wasn't an exceedingly smart Fire Warrior, but he was no where near as foolish as his newly recruited warriors who had charged out into the open and quickly melted into bitz pieces and gore, he had lasted through battles before but this wasn't to be his last. His unit and the rest of the teams were stuck inside of a large bunker the humans had once used before they had come to spread the Greater Good to the planet. Days ago a large contingent of mechanical humans he hadn't seen before had landed and swept through a lot of the Tau forces on the planet. This bastion of safety was merely a prison now. The mechanical humans were preceded by a seemingly endless thunder that only lead to shells falling from the sky like rain. Few could avoid the barrage, those that didn't died.
The ceiling had finally stopped shedding dust. The perpetually shelling had shaken every speck of it loose and onto the heads of the Fire Warriors sheltering inside. The tempo of the distant thunder changed from a steady thumping to a quicker thud, thud, thud, thud and the Tau began to panic. The rapid shells hit hard and with each hit cracks formed in the bunker. Before any of them could process it, the bunker collapsed taking all inside, but the distant rapid fire didn't cease, shells kept raining for hours....
The armor of the 91st rolled past what used to be designated as "Defense Point Delta 4". Now it was nothing but a cratered mass. The Constans tonitruum escorted by the Gladiator and TwinBlade rumbled past it, its three bombard barrels still glowing and hissing in the rain.
"A little rain always washes away the Xenos" the commander of the monstrous Gatling artillery piece grumbled as he rode in the coupala of his machine. "Agreed" the vox cracked. "All units continue to waypoint Beta 3, flatten anything in the way, DeSat says the prototype is in the Manufactorum to the north". "Storm clouds a rollin'"....
I think I'm finnaly done with the Dominus construction wise. I want to test it out now >.>
I think I might start on the T95 tank now. Make it into another Shadowsword (its only fair to the real life machine.) bolt some additional armor on, some targeters and then some.
I might base the Chimeras too.

A quick build later, smashing, cutting and gluing stuff together in some semblance of design.
Its built out of the Hull of the quad legged Axis Dust Tactics walker, bunch of bitz and stuff. It has the rear treads of a Taurox, front wheels stolen from what was once a trailer to a Flak 88 that was used to be the rear wheels of the Dragon Wagon that was scrapped a while ago, the rear roof doors of a Rhino, gun turret of a Hellhound, and a bunch of stuff. its hull heavy bolter is the chin gun the Axis walker came with, given larger barrels. Sure there are two barrels side by side... But obviously they are not twin linked
Its not the grandest of creations. But its something to keep going.
Plus, 'nother Chimera!.
I keep having these ideas for this battleship tank (and an Aircraft Carrier tank after it). I think I want to get two of the Terminator Hunter Killer Tank hulls that I built the Ordinatus main weapon tower on. put them like a foot and a half apart, and build a mighty battleship tank upon it.
Then I remembered an old toy aircraft carrier I had years ago that was like 2.5 feet long..... want to find a carrier of such size... strap treads on it... Build a small fleet of micro fighters with bunch of lascannon and rockets and stuff.... Rain holy hellfire in the Omnissiah's name.
Maybe...
Soon...

Some quick paint I got on two of the Chimeras.
Not sure what the fluff for the 4 little Chimeras will be. I'm still figuring it out. I've been thinking of connecting at least one of them to the Dominus's fluff.
Ill keep painting and building.

After a battle with my Skitarri + IG Armored Battle group testing my new Dominus Bombard I grabbed a little Gundam Guntank thing for like $20, I was unsure of its size but its only a tiny bit larger than a Russ.
The battle had my troops with an ally of Harlequins vs Speed Freak Orks and Chaos with Cypher and his lot.
I only managed a few pics in the chaos.
Lots of dead Orks and chaos marines later, I did better that I thought I would, The Dominus also proved itself by bombarding a pair of Rhinos into bitz and Then thunderblitzing an entire squad of Boyz (+nob) and crushing the truck they came in by flipping it into my allies jetbikes (woops, but they lived).
Awesome battle.
But onto the "Drone Tank"
Fluff wise its not a full on "Drone" like one would think a modern drone be. Its more an advanced servitor that is an entire tank. The hull is like a mm or two wider and longer than a Russ but its marginal. I orgionally wanted to use the Guntank as the basis of another Knight Titan.
I think Ill use the Torso and head in a Knight but the treads will be this tank, the guntank is far too short for a Knight but itself.
Still not bad for $20 give or take.
I'm still tinkering away.

"Is it ready?" came over the noosphere, a question none present would dare not to answer quickly.
"Yes, madam Archmagos" Senior Artisan Lockswitch replied.
"Show me what you have uncovered..."
Lockswitch activated the view finder in his servo skull, sending it to view the machine before him and his subordinates, it lazily began to orbit the big grey tank in the center of the hanger.
"Rune priest Keter would you kindly, awaken the machine spirit". Keter began twisted knobs and pressing runes inside a panel within the top hatch of the tank. The tank's headlights and sensors blinked on in rapid succession and its engine roared to life.
The tank suddenly extended its track units from its hull on hydraulic arms, crushing several servitors and crushing the leg of an attendant who screamed in pain of the multi ton monster on his limb. The tank bucked wildly on its suspension, sending Keter into the ceiling and falling unconscious in a heap in the corner.
" I LIVE!" The tank bellowed. "Quickly! restrain it!" Lockswitch ordered the surviving servitors. The tank trained its guns on the nearest servitor only for a series of clicks to emanate from its weapons. "Ammunition not present, lascannon energy cells depleted, engaging physical combat protocols!"
The machine began to strain on its chains, trying to use its bulk as a weapon on anything in its reach, its hydraulically articulated treads thrashed in and out trying to almost claw at the approaching servitors. It was chaos and Lockswitch couldn't get near the machine to stop it.
"Command codes, 01010000 01100001 01110011 01110011 01101001 01110110 01100101 00100000 01101101 01101111 01100100 01100101", the Archmagos voice over the noosphere came. The Tank turned its turret toward the now stationary servo skull hovering infront of it.
"Commands recognized, awaiting orders." The tank finally said, retracting its treads and lowering its guns.
"01010111 01101000 01100001 01110100 00100000 01101001 01110011 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 01110010 00100000 01110000 01100001 01110011 01110100 00111111 ?" came the binaric orders over the noosphere.
"Accessing" the tank grumbled. "Cataclysm-class Combat Servitor, manufacturing number 3625, previous engagements: DATA EXPUNGED"
"01000001 01110010 01100101 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 01110010 01100101 00100000 01101101 01101111 01110010 01100101 00100000 01101111 01100110 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00111111 ?"
"Affirmative, unit numbers sequestered."
"Lockswitch, tend to this one, find the rest of them, a ship will come for the next shipment for testing along with the rest of the machines that have been found in a few weeks. Do not miss that ship or you know what will happen." the voice from the servo skull commanded.
"Yes, madam, I will get to work immediately".....
I think I'm done with this little quick build. the "Servitor Tank", is done besides paint of course.
I hope to get another one of those Gundam Guntank things or two and make a few more drone tanks with the remaining Guntank parts like the Torso, arms, head, etc being refitted as parts for Knights.
The whole models ability to extend its tracks serves no purpose on the board, if anything its like making my truck glow in the dark, its cool but pointless and ill keep them locked on the hull as to prevent them from being used as "cheating" which doesn't make sense as it make my tank bigger and easier to hit..... heck, at best It could sit on rough terrain better than a normal russ but I need to test that myself.
Anyways. I'm still tinkering away, not sure what next.

Scratching together an annihilator Russ.
The tiny turret came from the little Russian tank that is the Sickle Annihilator. It had two of them for alternate makes of the tank. The small size works for an annihilator as the components of a Lascannon can be compacted into a small turret and still have room for a guy behind them.
Unfortunately that means the commander has to pull double duty as gunner and commander which in the history of tanks has happened plenty of times in some designs, sometimes they even had to be radio operator, gunner, commander, and loader all at once, only the driver was ever separate as he had to drive the armored beasty.
In this case the tank is reduced to only 3. Driver, Commander, and Vox operator.
Its a bulky brick of a thing. But getting some practice in on scratch building is nice and fun. Plus it costs a fraction of another tank where I would have to procure bitz and pieces from all sorts of places.

butchered the leg assembly on the Allies Walker from Dust Tactics.
Bolted it to the Scratch Annihilator. They are wider than a Russ base sure, but the frame (the chassis excluding the legs) is the same exact profile give or take a mm or 2. In short, to hit the hull, gotta hit the chassis not the legs.
I'm trying to figure out a way to bolt some HB sponsons onto it as the upper portion seems rather bare. That and an Annihilator with Hull LC and Sponson bolters is a good all-around tank.

Quad Annihilator is done build wise, its sponsons are in and ready to rock.
also got plenty of armor plate and rivets on it.
My "Servitor Tank" and its movable treads broke last knight as it was playing on the terrain (display, not in-play).... cheap Japanese plastic. Or whoever manufactured the Guntank.
Anyways, I've glued its treads straight to the Hull so its won't fall apart. Still works as a tank and it only lost its neat little ability that really didn't do anything for it in-game.
I still need to paint the Chimeras, bunch of skitarri (infantry are a pain and I'm a lazy guy), and now these two who need a base and paint. The Dominus needs to be painted completely and then some.
I got the "Death from the skies" book if only to see what all the fuss was about, its neat but I'm iffy on a whole 'nother phase of craziness. But it looks like it could spice some things up.
I orders a 1/32 scale Gee Bee Racer R to make a Stormhawk Interceptor (the models are nearly the same dimensions.) Ill glue on all the guns and such to make it work. if it works out ill get another or 2 to make a trio of fighters. I was thinking of a giant mobile aircraft carrier anyways and if the planes work ill give the giant carrier a little more than just day dreams.
