What would you guys recommend for vibration method? I have an old sander I was thinking about fastening to a board and use that, but is seemed like it would make an awful mess.

I tap the molds with my finger or a tool to gently agitate them. I've been told that "personal massagers" are ideal as you can tune the level of vibration to what you need for the medium being used. I have yet to acquire such an item however.

A five dollar 'massager' from Wal-Mart that you hold against the side of the mould.

Actually i was and i wasn't.
The specific device to which I was referring is not really designed for insertion. It can be but, not its primary intended function.

100% YES. That's really weird / cool that you said that. I was talking to ktbb22 yesterday about making a forum that was just for modeling. There's a lot of chatter and useful information on everyone's individual threads, I was thinking about (1) creating a specific thread on Dakka where everyone posted modeling stuff, or (2) create a BBS that isn't on Dakka so when the topic of discussion turns into a potential train wreck it's not violating Dakka rules.

Seeing the consensus is already to stay on Dakka, what say we about a new thread? Not taking away from our individual threads, but as an addition where we can pool all our thoughts / ideas, post WIP, display completed items, etc.

I'm totally up for this and will be a frequent contributor. What do you guys think?

And in case anyone is wondering- no, I have no interest in starting the thread myself.
