I saw it (so it could have been a little older for you guys) in the early 90s, possibly mid 90s but Im pretty sure it was early. What I CAN remember is it had wizards of some kind in it, but they were kids of course (it was a kids show) and I remember the "magic" they used was actually some kind of contraption they wore, that allowed them to shoot lightning and such, and their outfits were red, and kindda like tabards from what I can remember.
I know its not a whole lot, but I watched it once as a kid and thought it was a really cool show, but being that it wasnt an American TV show, I never saw it after the few times I watched it. Any help?

I did a bit of searching but couldn't find anything that matched your discription. Hopefully these links might help in your search. http://www.retrostatic.com/80scartoons http://www.yelp.com/topic/boston-your-favorite-kid-teen-themed-tv-shows-from-the-80s-and-90s

Gah....well thats not good I can tell you it wasnt a cartoon. I remember when they would use their "magic" they would like, rub their wrists or something like that together, and then blast lighting.......or something.......like that
Dammit Im sorry this is so friggin vague, but like I said it was a LONG time ago, and I only saw it a few times. Maybe Ill try and google it once more. I seem to try every now and then to see if I get lucky

No idea, maybe 'the tomorrow people'?
On a happy note, searching for your answer led me to discover 'Into the Labyrinth', a kids tv show from when I was a boy that I had though I'd dreamed up!

Rubbing wrists and shooting lightning sounds like Mutant X, but not English by any stretch.

Was Australian but I definitely remember it being shown over here as I used to watch it after school.

Round the twist is another great Australian kids show. Well i used to love it as a kid.
Slightly on topic does anyone remember a (british) live action kids show called 'Mud'? (Or at least i am 90% certain that's the name). The kids were in medievil times AFAIK and i think they were time travellers. They had an old lady with them. It was around the time of the last couple series' of Knightmare and Gamesmaster.
1995-8 i would guess.

Into the Labyrinth was indeed quite splendid for its time; I remember it most fondly. Pointless trivia note: a number of its writers had written for Doctor Who, including former script editor (in modern parlance, essentially showrunner) Robert Holmes, and Into the Labyrinth's co-creator Bob Baker was the man who devised adorable/irritating robot dog K-9 (as well as writing the Wallace and Gromit scripts).

Round the twist was a good one. I remember the name of a show called Mud (can picture the titles but thats it). Did anyone else watch the girl from tomorrow series (was on a similar sort of time to spellbinders and round the twist)?

They are completely different shows. Its hardly fair to compare them.
I didnt enjoy Angry Boys that much though. If you like Chris Lily check out his other stuff like "We can be heros" and "Summer Heights High". They are also very amusing if not a little uh... potentialy controversial.
