So yeah as the title says, I am changing my regular red Necrons into Irn Bru Crons, whatdya think?

So, I was thinking about how the logo would be done on the models and also about the green rods in the warriors, Maybe paint them orange with a carbonated design, Although I'm not sure how to do this and I could do with some advice,

Irn Bru is a toxic and corrosive drain cleaner that the brits have a tendency to drink (seems to be Scots and Northerners, mostly).

Rusty metal Necrons with Blazing orange details?

Not a bad idea that, Needs some blue though, It's more on the actual packaging that I'm after, and the Gauss will be the drink itself.

Irn Bru is one of the few local drinks that has managed to survive the onslaught of Coke and Pepsi. Primarily this is because it is awesome and a perfect hangover cure consisting of mostly sugar and caffeine.

Considering its advertised as being made from girders (contains ammonium ferric citrate) and makes you really strong (check youtube for the old adverts) it actually fits quite nicely as a Necron theme.

The logo is quite wide,so it might only be appropriate to do in its full glory on the Monolith. If you do have any ghost arks then please remember to fit with a vending machine

I quite like the red metallic you've done on your gallery models on the head and shoulders. Could youlighten that up to a brighter orange colour and have a more blue tint to the rest of the body?

Also once you've done some you should send some pictures to Barrs and see if you can get any free stuff out of them.

You cant even buy iron bru round here easily (thank goodness!)

and I was going to start on the warriors, just as test models really, still, I need the paints first, The vending machine spitting out Necron body parts would be epic on a ghost ark, you sir have inspired me into a full on Irn Bru army!

Try mixing it 50:50 with vodka it's fething close to a gargleblaster.

You guys should honestly try Irn Bru before you knock it. Chromedog has obviously tried it but then again I bet he doesn't like vegemite either. :-P

I'm a souhterner BTW and I love the stuff. Now if you'll excuse me, that wall looks rather bouncy.

You might want to try the yellow ones with a red ink wash.

If you are to paint them in the Irn Bru colour scheme then perhaps expand this to have specialist units having other Barr brand drinks as their colouring (Fiery, Diet, for things like wraiths). ...And have discarded drinks cans laying about the place too. =D

I HAVE tried it.
BOTH the local version and the original (local version has much less caffeine in it, which alters the flavour).
BOTH are too sweet for me, in a "Dr Pepper" kind of way. I really don't like drinks that are too sweet.
And I DO like vegemite.

I'm a Mountain Dew man, myself. Prior to this it was "Jolt" and "Jolt ULTRA".

You know the funny thing - I love Irn Bru, yet I find Mountain Dew too sweet.

Its the quinine that does it. Keeps you awake AND prevents malaria. How neat is that!
