I've got an idea. To put some spice to whole this "Hoax vs. True Leak" debate around supposed 6th ed rules, I dare you all to enter this simple game

Each of you who strongly belives he/she is right, post here, simply saying "Leak was a hoax!" or "These are real 6ed rules" etc... Just state your point firmly, without discussion and just to keep the statistic up - vote above.

Now. Once 6th edition hits the stores, we will dig this thread up from the depts and see who was right, and than people who were wrong will... post pictures of them EATING THEIR OWN SHOE :]

1) If things like EV, Cover Save 5+, Super Heavies for Monolith / Landrider etc.. show up in 6th Ed - they nay sayers will eat their footwear.

2) If on the other hand 6th ed will be just imporved 5ed with same turn structure, etc... Me and all of us who bealive in the leak ruleset to be true - will eat ours

I am undecided. I lean on the fake side, so I will not be disapointed if they are fake. I would really want these to be true.

Sadly I will not gamble if I have to eat my shoe. Even a bite, yuck.

Yeah - that's also a possibility but that would break the whole concept here

Anyway, I say NAY! It is a complete upheaval, it seems incredibly unlikely.

You've not structured this bet very well. It's entirely possible that GW would reduce cover down to 5+ regardless of what the disputed document says.

Really, what percentage of the rules need to overlap for it to have been counted as "real"? If the answer is ANY, well then only a fool would take that bet, as the pure fact that some things are going to change means that it's a matter of statistics that something happens to be changed in a similar way.

My vote is that it's not a genuine rulebook to-be, but without knowing the parameters...

I guess this dare covers the extremum of us who believe that leak will be almost identical with final version and those whose say that almost all of that is rubbish and no way to be true.
All the other guesses are a safe middle-ground

Unless neither of these extremes happens - someone is going to eat the shoe. And I bet it will be pretty obvious who's right once we see the final version. Otherwise, we can have the middle-ground discussion then, but for now - let's stick to what's hot. It's about the jackass bet, not predicting future and measuring percentage ;

Personally I think it's true. I've read the whole thing and the changes seem drastic, but they also seem consistent with the leaked rumors we got a few months ago.

I like pretty much everything in it (With the exception of the current EV rules), and if it's a massive hoax then someone put a HUGE amount of time and effort into it and eating my shoes is the least I can do if it's wrong!

I feel certain that these are legit rules, and GW 6th will be a refined derivative from this leaked set. Personally I have switched over to 6th already. To our orc player comment, your troops have low Int, you have cheap fodder, and alpha strike is your best friend

I think they are a real leak and the 6th edition rules will have at least some resemblance to them. It's an early playtest obviously, so it may be far from the final product.

Now to figure out how to make shoes out of bacon!

I am betting that the edition-cycle breaking will be true, but that about half the specific rules leaked will be wrong.

Regardless of what I have to eat, I voted leaked rules are real. I just hope the part about the 9" JP move is false, that would be a serious blow to my DOA Blood Angels along with the defensive fire when deepstriking.

If it's true, then the nerd arguments will continue for the next five years.
If it's a fake, then the real rules will come out and the nerd arguments will continue for the next five years.

I'll be over there playing Infinity for a few years. When and if the whining dies down enough so that a taxiing A380 can be heard over it, I might come back.
