I'm loving the highlighting. Often 'grey' grey knights just feel flat to me. These guys look eye catching and dynamic. They have that 'pop' factor than even many well painted armies lack. Great job.

Wow you really gave the grey colours some real depth here. Very nicely done. The sharp highlights and the clean look do make the squad cartoony, and I went for the other end of the spectrum for my GKs with a weathered approach myself, but it's different and I think your paint job looks great. i like them.
Love the glowing rune rock bases as well. Did you make them yourself?

Thanks everyone.
I like the cartoonish look as it makes the minis look nice from a slight distance like a tabletop.
I do the same with my Salamanders.
Now I have "only" 23 more full squads to paint plus a whole bunch of assorted loose minis with various wargear and the entire motor pool on top of it all.
Yeeeay...

Yeah, they're o.k!.........
:-) seriously good work again! I never get sick of seeing your painting, the fact that you have the patience to paint GK's in nmm is simply astounding, it really is a point of difference that makes my mind boggle at how long they must take you! and to such a great end result, simply stunning, the banner looks great and very regal but those bases are my favorite part, the subtle way you painted them with the glowing runes is what makes them great, it's not ott but actually helps make the whole squad appear cohesive.
Keep it up my friend, remember only 23 squads to go! you'll be playing a game with them all when you're oh about 60! :-)

Some 160 hours per squad. lol I dont want to think about it...
I like the clean look, awesome! More of these, please.
Sure, about 230 more and the whole maxed out vehicle pool. Think I´m goint to take pics of the two finished dreadknights today.
Really nice. For some reason the multicolored runes on the bases aren't working for me. Maybe it's the colors chosen?
Guess what, I dont like them either
Thing is I started out making fire runes on terminator bases and it just stuck. With 20 terminators (old ones) donw I didnt have the energy to remake all the bases. Knight sized bases are painted with blue runes and look MUCH better.
Vehicle bases are green and also look better then the fire bases but again, dont have the mental fortitude to take of all termie bases and redo them in blue.
These are amazing! I would love a tutorial on how to paint these step by step when you do the rest .
Heh, almost nobody ever saw the tutorial but people keep asking me how I paint various things. Weird.

The two finished dreadknights. Everything is magnetized, all arms, hands, weapon options and the torsos themselves are magnetized onto the legs and can rotate or be taken of to save space in the carry case.
These two were sort of tryouts as I had no idea what colours to use and so. The third will be done "for real".
I re sculpted one of the hammers to have lots of miniature skulls in it just for fun. Took ages and didnt look as nice as I would hope so that was a bummer and time wasted:/
Also went for blue runes on the ruin bases like on the the strike knights.
