That NMM is superb; it's rare that I'll think the vanilla GK palette doesn't look boring!

your NMM makes me the jealous. I may have to extract the technique from your brain and implant it into mine....

These GKs are insane! Nicely done man. The style you went for is worth the time you put in they look great.

The dreadknights look like big awesome toys ( I don't mean that in a bad way). PEW PEW!

First stormraven.
A bit dssapointed with this, it turned out to dark and the armour is a bit rushed but I like the way the base turned out and all weapons are magnetised, both the frontal multimelta, HB and missiles to the turret weapons and hurricane bolters.

Next one will get the chapterhouse kit and better paint job.

Very nice job with the paint schemes. Out of curiosity, you are aware that the company whose stuff you're making look so nice is suing your boss, right? You'd think that you'd choose a competitor's products to highlight, lol.

Love the dread knights and the storm raven Pyriel. Just can't believe the brush work on that big vehicle... really amazing. You usually don't see effects like that without an airbrush... at least now-a-days. Very dynamic and a great match for the rest of the army. If the next one is going to be better... I'm really looking forward to seeing it!

I love the paintjobs! My only quibble is that personally I think the blue bases blend in too much with the models themselves. I think a different color choice on the base would make your models pop that much more. But they are still simply amazing!! Great job!

I´m kind of stuck with the base colours I have chosen.
Blue for small infantry and monsters.
Red/fire for terminator infantry.
Green for armoured (vehicles) models.

This blue base effect is what I am trying to achieve as seen on an older metal GK squad I did before the plastic minis came:

I am not a fan of the bases. i think they distract from the models tbh...

Adding a libby I just did.
First of the colour scheme drowe me nuts, I hate HQs being all grey and boring so I figured I will add some blue here and there while maintaining a gray armour.

I also dont like the absense of letters on the pads but since the weapon arm is magnetized to the torso so I can switch the warding stave for a sword I will do fiery blue letters on the sword arm later on. The magnetizing sticks very well too, I was expecting a flimsy mini but it holds up very well.

What else is there to say. This mini IS a little sloppy since I did it in record time. Normally it takes me a week of everyday painting to do a HQ mini but this time I painted this libby in one day only so with my standards it is a very rushed paint job.
Overall it took me two days with the first day being cleaning and spraying undercoat of black and sculpting the warding stave ring and replacing the original eagle with it. Didnt want to use the GK warding stave head like everyone else does but still do something "circular" and unique so I sculpted that half ring and put it on around the original staff skull.

Day two saw me paint everything. I was pretty fed up afterwards since my behind was pretty sore from all the constant sitting lol
I used the same technique to paint the tabard as I did on Crowe and Dragio in my blog.

Oh yeah, HQ minis have purple runes on their bases...otherwise captains and champions would be very hard to spot amongst the sea of terminators and strike knights

The first GK LR. A bit sloppy with the hull and I hate this kit for the sheer impossibility of gluing the damned parts together. I had to fill vertiable ditches with covering greenstuff as well as cut up to 1/5 of the upper back top cover that went over the bottom half as well as construct as much upper hull again from greenstuff to fill in the missing pieces on the opposite site.

Am disgusted by the cost of such a plastic model when it comes with such huge issues. It´s like putting together a gigantic landspeeder and we all know how well those fit.

All sponsons and turrets are magnetized and interchangeable. That was basically the only fun thing to do on the whole vehicle, that plus painting the death angel doors and front plates, was fun to finally get to paint up something I have sculpted so long ago in the first place.

That looks amazing. Would you mind giving a tutorial on how to get that shading effect on the wings?

Also, the effect of your blue (guns and front grenade launcher) is amazing. How did you do it?

I won't lie, it would be hilarious if in house rules, the weapons being held by the angels could be taken off and used by infantry.

Nice work Pyriel, that libby is top stuff and your raider is looking pretty damn nice too! not as good as your Sallie one imo but that thing is amazingly good! ;-) I love the death angel doors, you've painted them beautifully and the frag launchers! omg! amazing, the colour combo you used is so different and striking when laid onto such a war engine! and i think you should do another tute on your techniques for applying paint and highlighting? you may teach us about the transitions of colour and where shadows and light need to be to trick the eye!
