My one foible with the LR is that all LR variants except for the Redeemer have their sponsons on the rear; the Redeemer has them on the front.
So if you were a frickin' 'Eavy Metal compliant fanatic you'd magnetise the sponson mounts as well

Awful shameful models, your stuff is so bad the only hope for avoiding the shame associated with them would be to finish painting the entire army and then just sending it to me to call my own
top notch stuff as always!

Love the work on the LR, and can empathize with your building comments. I must admit the blue doesn't really do it for me... the wings on the angels are fine but the blue on the barrels and front armor just doesn't feel right next to the red. However... that's just my personal preference.
Beautifully executed though.

I agree...although I must say the camera really screwed up the blues. The barrels are not blue irl but more chrome white with a blue tint.
That is also why I dont really want to give people any help painting those. First need to take better pics and then if people like them I might do a tutorial some day.

Yeah you are right. Dont have a month of spare time to sculpt all over its hull
Now get your behind over here for a weekend of dark heresy gaming and some tabletop and we can have a great time killing each others armies

What I've noticed is that you're trying to take the same 'block' method of highlighting and shading that you're using for the infantry, and apply it to the vehicles. I struggled with the same problem for a long time, because I just couldn't think how else to do it, but no matter which way you come at it that method of highlighting simply doesn't work the same way on those large flat panels.
I've found the best way to achieve a similar look is with an airbrush. Pain the whole panel in a light colour, then mask off everything except the panel you are working on, then spray a darker colour all around the edges, so you end up with a fading of the colour, from bright in the centre of the panel to darker around the edges. Then use an extreme edge highlight on the edgs of the panels to make it 'pop'.
Otherwise, really nice models! As others have said, I don't think the bases really work, but otherwise looking great!

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?" |

I know I know.
I have a compressor and paint gun but no time to learn how to use them properly.
To you guys who are good at airbrush painting, how long does it take to master it?

One day for basic blending. When I get any better than that I'll let you know. Actually, screwing around with the needles and keeping the brush properly clean and functioning is far more difficult than learning how to use the brush itself...

Wow Pyriel everything is looking amazing at first I thought you painted everything with an airbrush until I noticed a comment from Git's.
That gives me hope that in many years time I might have a chance at painting to a similar level, well one can dream lol.
Keep up the excellent work, now I've found your thread I will be keeping my eye out for new stuff.

Finally spent a few hours finishing the librarian, took a GKT arm and sword, magnetized them with the libby torso like the ward stave is and added a hearldic shield in a libby-ish theme plus used blue text colour on the elbow and pad since it is the traditional thing for libbies.
Now I can swap a sword or a wardig stave and the thin is pretty sturdy.

I love the highlighting of the top blue color? What is the super bright blue color? I typically stop at Enchanted Blue.
Also, the stubbing of the cloak is beautiful so is the blending on the sword.

Nice work Pyriel. The arm swap is a great idea. Can we have a pic with the stave? I really like the way you've handled the blue... working in the traditional libby color without changing the armor away from your standard scheme. Smart. Work on the cloak and highlights around the head (hood and chest plate) are exceptional.

Incredibly picky on my part, but when I got my hands on a Finecast Libby I filed down the Crux Terminatus shoulderpad and replaced it with a GK one; since they don't display the Crux.
Also replaced the hand with one of the plastic GK terminator ones and files down the arm to a flat surface so that a Stormbolter could be attached to the wrist to be more in-keeping with the other GKs
Those are the only foibles from this fluff-nazi Automatically Appended Next Post: To be fair, the one in the Codex is just an un-altered model. So clearly 'Eavy Metal don't feel similarly inclined to myself.

Spot on dude. My opinion exactly.
The next libby will get the pad filed down and replaced with a GK pad.
I did this one like I did because I wanted some variety since ibbies are individualistic and I´m sure not two look the exact same.

Ahh cool, I suppose the Crux can always be a motif.
Is this a finecast model? If you don't object to pewter you could always get one of the older Termie libbies and give them diferent arms if you want some individualisation?

Nope, bought it cheaply from ebay.
You know the more I think about it the more I think this minis might actually be one of those chinese recasts since the seller was from china and it was dirt cheap.

WOW these truly are amazing that is a great paint job. very hard to pick fault with any of the models, only thing i can say is a personal opinion,
I prefer the more weathered and beaten look to marines, Like they have been in a fight recently or are mid fight.
