So Im planning on making some Khorne chariots for my Daemons.

Gw doesnt make a chariot model in the Daemons range.

What I need to know is there any rule relating to correct base size for scratchbuilds?

All I could find in the rulebook was that models are to be based on the base size they come with, which doesnt help me.

Dark Eldar- 1500pts Completed
Grey Knights- 1500pts 1 Guy done
Chaos Daemons- Approx 5000pts
Slaanesh Daemons- 1500pts, in progress
Khorne Daemons- 1500pts, in progress
Death Korps of Krieg- Plans being formulated.
---------------------------------------------------
High Elves- Approx 2000pts
Vampire Counts- Raising the dead once more

Since there actually no model for these units, I would just have to tell you to use your best judgement. Look at other models that move in a similar way. I would think either 60mm or perhaps the bike base.

60mm would be a good choice, but the chariot is pulled by a juggernaught.

Juggers come standard on a 60mm base meaning a chariot wont fit.

You could just go without base on the model if it's to big. Being equivalent to tanks or the defiler. If it's pulled by juggers i think the easiest way would be to leave it w/o base OR get one of the monster bases from fantasy. (The one that comes with the mammoths and goblin spiders)

Well I wouldnt want it without a base because it counts as infantry not a vehicle.

The base I was thinking about was the stormraven sized one, not sure if that would be a bit over the top though.

Its either that or make a custom base (because Id like it to be a rounded base rather than squared fantasty one).

If you want to use a standard GW base, the large oval (Stormraven base) is your best option. 60mm will be way too small. A WHFB chariot base is almost good enough, but still too narrow. The large oval is the only standard sized base that will fit everything comfortably.

I've been having a similar issue with my Chariots of Tzeentch.

I'm probably going to use an oval base, as it has to fit two Screamers and a chariot, and screamers aren't that small.

Yeah I had the same issue when I did my Tzeentch ones too lol.

Ended up making a base for them both from Screaming bell bases and a 60mm base chopped in half for each end.

Looks like a giant biker base.

Thanks for replies though guys, looks like the oval base is a good choice to go with.

It does make them a bit unwieldy to deepstrike with, but it seems to be the best size for a decent looking model.

This appeals to me much more than the oval base does. Simply for aesthetics, mind you.
