Ok, this is not strictly wargaming news, but for fans of Lego interpretations of all things fantasy, comic book and sci-fi, this is welcome news.

For those who like to buy stuff which will accumulate value, may I suggest picking some of these up. Lego holds its value very well and these sets are often discontinued after a period of time (e.g. many of the original Stars Wars kits are no longer available).

Your doin it wrong. You glue a generic lego block to the base, and then attach the mini to the block traditional lego style.

Haven't you seen the film?
It has just reverted back to the size it had when Sauron wore it.

I'm a bit underwhelmed by Helm's Deep, to be honest, although I'm excited for the line as a whole. Helm's Deep just comes across as smaller than it should be, and kinda bland.

What I AM excited for are the possibilities, starting with Gandalf vs Balrog, Eowyn and Merry with the Witch King on his Fell Beast, and maybe Smaug at some point.

Heh, you really need to get about 10 of the Helm's Deep sets to do it any sort of justice. Maybe that's their plan!

So does this mean they are going to be bringing out lego lord of the rings video game? Too early to speculate, but that would be hilarious.

Going to be a debbie downer here and say they look disappointing. Too little, too late. No one cares about LoTR anymore, especially not Lego's target audience. The LoTR bandwagon left like five years ago <.<

Look how crappy shelob is. How could they ruin such an iconic beast? I bet I could make a better shelob than that, with mismatching colors, of course, but still.

I'm not a fan of these 'Licensed' kits myself. There's no creativity in them.

Don't get me wrong, the Star Wars kits are great, but the ones that are just set pieces (like the Inidiana Jones and now this) just smack of lazy cash in.

Something that Lego shouldn't need to do.

Yep... you can hear it coming from 10 months away...

Here is hoping that the next releases are more involved... Helm's Deep (for example) should be freaking massive. I also want to see Lego Ents.

Lego's pretty much given up on massive themed kits. I can't imagine why. They're doing themselves a disservice.

Also, finished.
