the whole point is to aviod a unprotcted box
Well a box is the most cost efetive contaner you could use, maybe some bubble wrap and if they are all plastic minnies than its not much of a problem. Only when you start to try and lug an army around does the box need to be more then a box
Battlefoam 1520xl with laser cut trays. They have ork trays of all types. You probably won't fill up a full 1520xl, but if you buy some extra pluck foam trays to fill it out, you'll have even more room to expand.

I use Sabol design simply for one reason. My FLGS sells it so why would I go with anything else? The bags aren't incredibly durable though if you want to take them on a flight or something. Battlefoam is your best bet if you need to fly with your army, but if you just simply need a safe way to carry your stuff Sabol isn't a bad choice at all.
I punched 1" circles out of sheet magnets, glued them to my bases, and tote everything around in metal tool boxes with 2" deep drawers. Very convenient to organize. Reduced much of the pack up/ take out time.
I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time.
A large plastic box. Just add some sort of partitions for carrying the regular guys so they don't fall over each other. Vehicles can fit together pretty nicely, just make sure there isn't space between them.
As a discussion grows in length, the probability of a comparison to Matt Ward or Gray Knights approaches one.
Speaking of cases, my latest Battlefoam order came in.
Some people might remember me annoyed with Battlefoam about two trays taking 3 months to arrive at my FLGS. After a huge discussion with the owner, it turned out they were never ordered. I've since apologised to the Battlefoam guys, and made a separate order there to see who gets me my trays first - Battlefoam (since I've heard it can take about a month to get your stuff in the states, getting it over here should take a lot longer) or my FLGS (who confirmed that my trays are on their way.
Battlefoam took 11 busness days to get here, so basically 2 weeks to Australia from the US. Impressive. My FLGS is still waiting.

They do laser cut semi rigid foam trays, with trays custom cut for specific armies cut to make the most efficient use of the space in the tray. Like, my order that just came in has 2 Tyranid 'Troop' trays, which hold 38 Termagant models each, and 2 Hormagaunt trays, which hold 28 Hormagaunts each. I have trays on order at my FLGS, one that holds 5 Zoanthropes, 2 Trygons and 3 Carnifexes, and a Vampire Counts tray that holds 3 Corpse Carts, 2 Varghulfs, a Black Coach and 15 Cavalry.
They're expensive compared to their competition, but they're far easier to use (especially compared to pluck foam for large models) and the cases, if you go with a Pack system, are very sturdy. And hold a metric gakload.
