I've got a bunch of Halo Hero Clix but I've only used them for SF skirmish figures.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I last played a few years ago, and frankly I didn't like where the system was headed. Too many white powers complicating gameplay. Whilst it made the powers a little more accurate to their comic counterparts they made it far too complex in the process. Heroclix's whole shtick was you can tell a models stats and all their special rules by looking at their dial and what the corresponding colour represented. The white powers and to a lesser extent the keywords obliterated this.

That and the over preference of doing characters like Wolverine, Hulk etc. all the time to the exclusion of others lagging behind with sub-par dials. Carnage and Venom I'm looking at you!

The guys are good to cut off the heroclix bases and repaint/ base for superhero games, like Pulp City, Superfigs, and RPG's for Champions and DC/ Mutants and Masterminds.

I just got the Catwoman rebased and painted up right before I left on my little outing.

Heroclix as a game is fine, I guess. I played it back in the day when it first came out, then graduated up to Horrorclix, ( Still have my Cthuhlu guy) and have them in a box in the room somewhere.

Good stuff.

I really am interested in the maps, that small run of the furnature, and outside stuff that Wizkids had out for a limited run, and DC guys specificly.

I have a few months on my sentence in Arkham, unless I break out first, before I can honestly put up my stuff for an offer.

It's a decent game that's lower stress because you can't really cheat and there isn't any gray areas in the rules.

Fun game, simpler and easier to deal with than Warhammer.

The real pity is that you can't mix horrorclix with heroclix. I've always wanted to set Team R'lyeh on the X-men.

"If you really want to know what it was like, to fight in the air in the great War, then go up to someone you have never met and who has never done you the slightest harm and pour a two-gallon tin of petrol over them. Then apply a match, and when they are nicely ablaze, push them from a fifteenth-floor window after first perhaps shooting them a few times in the back with a revolver. And be aware as you are doing these things that ten seconds later someone else will quite probably do them to you. This will exactly reproduce... the substance of First World War aerial combat and will cost your country nothing. It will also avoid the necessity of ten million other people to die in order for you to enjoy it."

Just like the move from Halo being Actionclix, I'm sure if Horrorclix makes a comeback, it will be as Horror Heroclix.

And I'm sure, just like Halo, it'll simply be a reprint of the old figures with new bases.

Do you mean the boardgame(s) or the Heroclix set?

I'm looking forward to Spiderman punching the Enterprise.

It's the heroclix set that's fully compatable with the existing golden age (I think that's what they're called) Clix. Indeed, Spiderman punching the Enterprise (or Vulture flying around with his Birds of Prey) is now possible....and silly.

Not really made my mind up on Heroclix. I too have recently started to play. I played in a Star Trek Heroclix Tournament last week. So my first Heroclix game ever was in a Tournament, talk about jumping in at the deep end.

I think there is a fair bit to learn and from watching the other guys play it's a game that could take time to work out all the power combo's. I guess the good players are the ones that know the combo's and know the stats on their dials.

Personally I'm only going to get a dozen or so Clix and just have the odd game for fun. I certainly cannot afford to get into another collectable game.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

I have a question... are all the heroclix compatible with eachother? The super hero ones anyway like DC marvel, and the Hulk, SPiderman, etc sets?

Im thinking of getting into it for something to play with my son, but I want to know what sets work together before I start buying.

Whats my game?

But note that Horror Clix are different, or so I have been told.

There was a Heroclix tournament at our club last week and I must say I was impressed with the guy that came 2nd (out of about 8 I think) as he was only using old HeroClix, ones without cards.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

Depends on what you mean by Special Rules.

They have retro-actively been given key words via an errata, they still have the regular powers that are on the general Powers Card, they still have the team abilities, they simply lack the White powers(aka, the "unique" powers) that the cards are required for.

Yes, spudkins - the coloured squares on the dial correspond with the Powers & Abilities card (which is available in one of the starter sets, and as a download) if the model doesn't come with its own card. The P&A card has the full text for standard abilities, while a model's own card will only have the text for white abilities.

I did some checking - if you can get hold of it, the Street Fighter starter has the current rules and Powers & Abilities card in it, along with a couple of maps.

I miss the colored ring on the base to tell Rarity...

Also, still pissed I need to rebuy my entire Haloclix collection cause they're now Heroclix with different bases and costs.

I played when it was new because I'm a huge comic geek. When I played it again years later I was pretty bored. Also, the bases look rather dumb. So I started cutting all of them off their Clix bases and glued them on regular ones in hope of one day writing new rules for them.

I actually tried that once, using the Star Wars miniatures rules as basis, which I find to be much more fun.
It's a very simple version of D20 RPG combat.

Star Wars already had a ton of simple special rules in place, though I had problems figuring out a balanced point cost.

I completly forgot that there were Street Fighter minis. I have to check if I can still get them somewhere.

Are these old or new?

I took rules straight from the Star Wars CMG, which basically works like D&D or Star Wars D20. You rolle a D20, add the attack value and if you reach the targets defense, he takes damake to his hit point value.

The game came out about a year before Revenge of the Sith. I made those cards some time later for fun.

Ditto. I might just stick with the old Halo Axtionclix, as my collection's really too big to buy them all again with the new cards.
