Alter Ego, ah so thats what the Bruce Wayne figure was about. Had a little nose on the Heroclix site earlier, I'm not so sure I'll be grabbing much of either of the upcoming sets. Although I need to track down some of those 'Giant X-Men' boosters.

Morathi's Darkest Sin wrote:Alter Ego, ah so thats what the Bruce Wayne figure was about. Yep. He can swap his figure and last two clix for the figure and 2 special clicks of the Dark Knight OR the figure and 3 special clicks of The Batman. All action tokens remain on the new figure. At least if I'm reading the release correctly. Also, the newer sets are introducing a feature from the last few sets of Mage Knight: multiple swappable dials. In essence, 1 figure, 2 or 3 different dials to use, each with their own cost(so, kind of like the old ranks but you swap the interior of the dial instead of having multiple figures).

Question, are the bases that are in the Hulk pack becoming the standard? As they are so much easier to turn, number of times I've had to open up a old style clix base and trim down the inside for easier turning is a pain. On a side note, grabbed another couple of smaller lots from someone leaving the game. About 150ish figs I reckon. Fills up a few of the gaps in the large teams, like getting Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Poison Ivy, Ironman, Wolverine, Rogue plus Batman, Robin and Batgirl, plus a selection of others. Combined with the other lots I brought, I am now at a pretty nice start point. Played a game with the boys on Saturday, stacked the game in their favour (they are only six and eight, so gave them about 100pt advantage, Avengers, FF and Hulk) and damn does Hulk hurt with his ability to ignore damage on a 5 or 6. They ripped my poor Doom, Leader and Brotherhood alliance to shreads with Hulk leading the charge.

They ripped my poor Doom, Leader and Brotherhood alliance to shreads with Hulk leading the charge. Even without the 100 points extra, you may have lost. Even more than 40K, balance is... lost, to say the least. It's always been a complaint of mine that a team filled with 300 points of, say, 10-20 point Shield Agents is still at a major disadvantage against a 300 point team with Superman, Batman, and Wolverine(just as random examples) despite their team ability. Some figures are so objectively better than others(like Kingdom Come Shazam and Supes as exaples) and no amount of points filler is going to stop them from curb-stomping you. I'm not sure if that's been fixed or not in newer sets. You can tell the game really is designed for play with friends at a comic store or at home to let you fill out those Wolverine vs X fantasies that every comic nerd has.

I have a couple of garbage bags full of Hero Clix my stupid friend gave me after high school when he left for California thinking he was going to be a porn star.
He's now garbage man.
Like I said stupid.
The game itself is fun, my only complaints is some of the dials are impossible to turn and keeping up with the number of special abilities characters have. Can have one ability at one moment, take damage and BOOM new ability.
I'm one of those people who needs things to be confined.

I can understand that Piston, leads to a lot of cross referencing mid game. Hopefully I can get all the rules in my head eventually, but I have a feeling the power reference card will always be required. @gunslingerpro - No but I drooled lots when it first came out. Made a call to concentate on the comics this time though, so no Haloclix for me. @spudkins - ebay, find all sorts on there, the lots I grabbed where £26 and £29 each, but come with a fair ammount. @Platuan4th - aye I had a feeling, some of those powers are hardcore when combined with others, and the new white ones that have you reference the card, and they do something unique, or combine two other powers. Yeah, I can see some folks just being nasty.

gunslingerpro wrote:I saw the ActionClix Halo Scarab kicking around the FLGS recently... Anyone ever play with one? Yes. It's designed for a single scenario for the old Halo ACTIONClix and thus will not be compatible with Heroclix. So if you buy it, realize you're buying it as a display piece unless you already have a large collection of the older Halo set. It come with two maps(large map and small interior map) and the Scarab assault scenario(one player plays the Scarab which can spawn figures one player assaults the Scarab). The non-Scarab player is attempting to board the Scarab to destroy it, hence the second map.
