Which races have the biggest, baddest beef with one another? According to rules, fluff, canon, opinion, etc.
It seems to me that Necrons, Tau, Kroot, Inquisition, SoB don't really have any rivalries to speak of. at least not on a scale worth mentioning. Scratch them.
Grey Knights, however, have a pretty serious issue with Chaos. Problem there is, "Chaos" is too vague, so that rivalry is out.

Some of the legendary rivalries I can think of are:

Ultramarines vs Tyranids
Ulthwe vs Slaanesh
Khorne vs Slaanesh (does anybody like this guy/girl/other?)
Cadian IG vs Abaddon's 13th Crusade
Imperial Fists vs Alpha Legion
Thraka vs Yarrick
The Emperor vs Horus

Well Nurgle and Tzeentch don't seem to get along well. And Tzeentch and Khorne don't have an excellent relationship, I believe before they were shattered, the C'tan had a great rivalry with the Chaos Gods. Harlequins and Ahriman have had a nasty encounter, though I unsure of any others.

I'm just wondering, where does the Imperial Fist and Alpha Legion rivalry come from?

I know the Alphas and the Ultras have serious beef, and I know IF has issues with IW, but IF and Alphas?

Funny thing is - they'll make further alliances with the DE.

I'd say the Eldar and Slaanesh myself.
Slaaney wants to nom on the tasty, tasty Eldar Souls.
While the Eldar hate the bastard that destroyed their race and nommed on them.
And/or the Dark Eldar / Slaanesh, same deal but the Dark Eldars existance is dedicated to escaping being nommed by she who thirsts.

Blood Angels and khorne? i seem to keep seeing referances to a specific greater daemon in the Blood Angels codex.

Eldar and Necrons (probably the deepest rivalry in the mythos)

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Space Wolves vs. Thousand Sons.

One brother sent to kill the other by their father, which marks the first (or close to it) occassion of marines fighting each other in an all out war.

Farsight Enclave vs Orks. The Tau's only hero* was beaten by the very race who he's supposed to specialise against.

*no one cares about Shadowsun or the Space Pope..no one.....

I second Eldar vs Necrons. That's some deeply-rooted hatred right there for a relatively frail race to risk open-war with the Imperium in order to get at slumbering Necron tombs.

Sautekh Dynasty vs Black Templars.

Well, it used to be Necrons vs. Life, but now I just don't know.

Dark Angels vs the Fallen? I think there are even special rules for fielding them against each other. Or at least there were.

Black Templar VS Word Bearers. Each are the most zealous proponents of their faith.

I'd say Thrakka and Yarrick, and the respective Steel Legion and Goffs. The Orks genuinely fear and respect Yarrick, and there's a personal rivalry between him and Thrakka that you don't have with most army rivalries.

eldar vs necrons...

Eldar vs Necrons for sure. The Old Ones created the Eldar for the specific purpose of killing the Necrons

Also Necron(tyr)/C'tan vs. Old Ones.

He is also mentioned in the GK codex. Ka'Bandha, best bloodthirster khorne has. Has beef with the BA. They organize a joint strike and kill him. Then the BA got mind rape...er...I mean Minfed wiped.

Space ants bite you bite them back. Zombie bots keep getting up keep crumping them down. Pansey elves explode zugs head crump theirs in.

See orks have a rivalry with everything and anything.
