So like the title says, I'm still pretty new to nids, but I know what units I like, and what's working for me so far. Let me know if you see any glaring issues.

HQ
Hive Tyrant /w Wings, Hive Commander, Leech Essence, Paroxysm @255p

Elites
2x Hiveguard @100p
2x Hiveguard @100p
1x Deathleaper @140p

Troops
7x Genestealers /w Toxin Sacs @119p
7x Genestealers /w Toxin Sacs @119p
7x Genestealers /w Toxin Sacs @119p
7x Genestealers /w Toxin Sacs @119p
1x Tervigon /w Catalyst, Toxin Sacs, Scything Talons @190p
10x Termagants @50p

Heavy Support
1x Trygon /w Adrenal Glands @210p
1x Trygon /w Adrenal Glands @210p
1x Tyrannofex /w Rupture Cannon, Larvae @265p

The idea is that between Deathleaper and the Hive Commander, my reserve rolls will be high enough to where I can outflank genestealers and deepstrike trygons from underground extremely effectively. I chose a flyrant because I wanted to be able to extend my synapse across the board quickly, to facilitate rapid assaults with Deathleaper and the Trygons. Considering dropping Deathleaper for Zoans, or a Doom.

Looks reasonably solid to me - the only point I would raise would be to try swapping out the Tyrant for the Swarmlord given the amount of outflanking (presumably) stealers.

I'm not sure about Death leaper (never used him) - Zoans in a pod can be good as long as you deploy strategically, Doom is usually a bit hit and miss (one game he'll do really well, the next game nothing because your opponent has everything in vehicles etc). Ymgarls could be another option to try out - especially if you have regular Space Wolf opponents (multi assaulting 2 units of Long Fangs is fun!)

Your DL wouldn't really be effective in the whole helping you deep strike. He has to start in reserve so on the 2nd turn he'd arrive on a 3+. If he arrives then you'd be rolling a 2+ from turn three onwards. If he doesn't though his rule would not help your reserve rolls as you'd already be at the maximum bonus. If you wanted to use this strategy I'd suggest just a normal lictor, saves you some points to spend elsewhere. Otherwise, as stated, looks pretty solid.

The whole lictor reserves thing is complete pants. Not bad unit in itself but don't rely on that +1 reserves ever helping.

Simplest route is to wack 2 more hive guard and 2 more stealers in the list instead.

This isn't a bad list basically (assuming you will retire the Deathleaper or Lictor option) but still have some handicap.

How do you plan to use your Hive Guards? Who's gonna support them providing synapse?

I suppose you're camping on your home obj. with the 2 big models (Terv+Tfex) and it's ok. A little hard to keep the Terv out of LOS with the new models but ok.

Stealers + the Trygons could (or will) outflank/tunnel in but in the meanwhile the Tyrant will flap not so far of the Hive Guards to keep them in synapse range and inevitably will be in range of the main high ST weaponry of your opponent.

Reservdes Nids could work but this list need some little fixing.

IE, I will take at least 15x Gargoyles to give a little cover to the Tyrant.

I will also consider to take 2 Tervigons as troops. One of them will outflank.

Every molecule will be useful

As far as the lictor reserves thing I guess you're right, it probably is pretty crappy. That's why I had chosen The Deathleaper since he can nuke the LD of an enemy psyker, that way if he helps out with reserves, great. If he doesn't? He's still got his ability to hop in and out allowing him to contest objectives, plus all his leadership/morale shenanigans.

Would dropping the Deathleaper for a Tyranid Prime to synapse the Hive Guard be a good idea?
