Aye, every pic I see of that place is another arrow in the heart of my main, she's never going to leave. Will probably move my bankie there as well if it has a bank and AH. Damn, chinese themed scenery, plus a western take on the music, I honestly can't wait. Also really pleased they have so far anounced a eleventh slot for realms, I hope it will increase in time, even if I have to buy them, but it will allow me to start a Pandarian girlie with the first couple of weeks. After I reclaim my first guild member to level cap, for the third expansion in a row. Well.. hopefully.

There's about 4-5 tools complaining about the female Pandaren model. Their complaints are basically that 'it is not ugly enough'. /sigh

Hehe, that tends to be the 'can't say I like it in case folks think I'm a furry crowd'
Seriously though, its Blizzard's take on the chinese/Japanese region, and what are the the local women known for, smaller and cute or large buck tooth sumo's?
Also happy to see the Dwarf model is going to get an update thanks to the scale comparisons. Blinkin typical I don't have one at the moment as well.. going need more slots.

Im fairly excited about it, I think the Pandarians are pretty cool looking. Im also curious how their neutral thing works as far as the factions go. I might just pick it up once it drops, funny enough, I saw a guy on my server the other day trying to find the user with Jack Black as a name, and was offering like 500,000 gold or something nuts for the name

Heh, surely Po would have been a better name in that situation.
As to complaints about the female Pandaren, not seeing it at all.
Also look at those backgrounds.. there are some better ones out there, sadly on sites that are work blocked for me atm. However its going to be an amazing place to play in.

Hehe, nope, as my lovely female Pandaren will show that within a few days of release.
Not sure I am going to rush off as a Monk though, might save that for a standard race, as every man and his dog will be a Pandaren Monk I'm guessing.

Just what WoW needs, more furries. But this expansion is showing a lot of promise, the changes they are doing to Hunter make me happy, I'd love to see my Wolfslayer Sniper rifle slung across my back instead of some lackluster polearm. The new resource gathering BG looks cool. Cata has been a disappointment to the point of making me quit, but MoP will definitely get picked up and tried. I also as a Pvper like how it's getting turned up a notch, we will have a full on Alliance vs Horde war.
...I may make a Forsaken Monk however.

I've been unsubscribed since about two months before WotLK came out. Dw I am by no means 'wrecking it' for the rest of you. I have no hard feelings against WoW - I actually remember it quite fondly, but MoP really reeked of desperation to me; the timing of the announcement after SWTOR was pretty interesting too...

I too have fond memories of WoW that unfortunately seem to pick up a little more tarnish and lose a little bit of lustre with every expansion they release.
I know they have good reasons not to but it seems to me there really is a genuine demand for Vanilla servers.

Ultimately those demands could be fulfilled by private servers... but mnyah, I tried SWTOR and I found it genuinely scary where that took me. I've concluded that I am not a 'good person' for MMOs: There's no such thing as playing casual where I am concerned.
I utilised an offer to return to WoW briefly to take a look at Cataclysm and, having not seen the game once since Burning Crusade, it was a bit of an eerie experience. It wasn't enough to turn me off completely but the whole game felt like some 'almost off' imitation of a game that had gone before it. Trying to allude to the vanilla world by pulling people back to Azeroth, but everything was so different. Maybe it's just that ultimate disappointment people will get when things don't meet their nostalgia? The dominant memories of levelling up in the original Barrens, etc?
Still, what ultimately put me off resubscribing was the price tag: £20 for WotLK, £20 for Cataclysm, plus a £35 realm transfer to leave my (now dead) realm. Sorry Bobby 'Satan' Kotick, but I already gave you enough for your CoD re-releases... I ain't giving you that kind of cash

I know they have good reasons not to but it seems to me there really is a genuine demand for Vanilla servers.
Vanilla servers would die off in a couple of months once people realized that 3 button rotations, constantly being oom, stacking resil, and 3 hour raids aren't really fun.
Like DPSing as an enhancement shaman in vanilla, two abilities, shocks and stormstrike, one is on a 5 second CD (/w talents), the other is on a 20 second CD. Spending 5 seconds waiting to do something isn't really fun.
MoP might be the death knell for me simply because it looks like 80 twinking might die and if it does, buh-bye WoW.

Just listening to some of the music for the new zones via the vids, and oh yeah, he's gone. Absolutely love that style of music. Oh and on a side note, I see in a recent interview they admitted they are already working on the 5th Expansion, with plans on the table for more.

Since SWTOR has the same gameplay as WoW, I think all that really pulls me back is WoW's setting (Fantasy will always be better for escapism than sci-fi, for me at least).

Hehe, I bet its been raised Henners.
As to the fantasy sci-fi point, for me thats a tough one. Warcraft is best for me at the moment for its world, followed by my time investment.
For me to abandon that, it has to be one of my favourite worlds or settings. So Warhammer had a chance, sadly it was terrible, and even after trying two of three times since with vain hopes it would be improved, it is still poor.
Warhammer 40K has a chance, as does World of Darkness, so both I am keeping an eye on.
Games not in design and unlikely ever to be that could also grab me would be Babylon 5, Mass Effect and oddly Pokemon.
I also tend to try new MMO's in case the gameplay is good enough to take my interest, so will try Guildwars 2, have tried and decided against Star Wars TOR, also still play City of Heroes.

Unless they fixed the massive ability lag issue, SWTOR's gameplay is a bad imitation of WoWs at best.
Not to mention that WoWs classes feel much more diverse and unique.
Edit: Not relevant to MoP, but relevant to WoW.

This is actually one of my biggest annoyances with WoW raiding. Blizz allows a very liberal modding community for addons and the like, people make add ons to help folks track combat, warn them of incoming attacks, track threat etc. Blizz reacts to that, increases difficulty to counter the addons, betters add ons are made etc, and eventually after periods of weird imbalances. They finally come to this middle ground which still equates to if you don't like using addons that much (ie myself) you are playing with one arm tied behind your back. Addons should be a bonus, not mandatory, which for some fights it certainly feels that way.

I remember raiding Molten Core back in Vanilla WoW without the plethora of addons, was funny and frustrating at the same time, once you got to TBC addons where as MDS has said where mandatory, since they had improved the boss abilities and their tactics, but back then it was more about bringing the right classes not the mantra Blizz is saying now, bring your friend not the class.
Arguably raiding 10 man even with mods is tough, had a few friends from WoW tell me raiding 25 man is a piece of cake compared to 10 man, mainly because you can have 2-3 afk, not pulling their weight or dead and still kill the boss, 10 man you don't have any sort of luxury like that, Blizz need to tune up 25 man difficult and tune down 10 mans.

Mind you I've see muppets who have addons still jump in fire, having addons isn't much good if the player still does things which defy common sense. I rather take a player who knows his class then a muppet who relies on addons to bumble his way through raids and wipes them more often then not, so for me player who knows class will beat player who relies on addons more often then not.

Agreed, I dont like addons AT ALL. Not to mention its luck of the draw if you are downloading a virus or keylogger or not. And dont start with the "Download from this place its fantastic!" Ive looked into MANY MANY MANY!!! add ons and sites, and you can always find people that say "stay away from there, youll catch this"

Actually, that's my problem with WoW : the constant efforts they have put into class uniformization. The "bring the player, not the class" mantra. It's just the exact opposite of what I'm looking for in an RPG ( a fortiori in an MMO) : diverse and specialized classes that all bring something different to the table. I hear Aion did it very well, for example. Blizzard started heading away from that long ago, and that's not good game design for me. Is it still true as of today ?
