I think its a bit better than a shot gun at long range. It doesn't have scatter shot for one thing.

CthuluIsSpy, the Italians make a lot of classicly "American" weapons for the American market. Uberti, for example, is one of the leading manufacturers of old West style single action revolvers and lever action rifles. I don't know why.

So shoot slugs through your shotgun? Pistols aren't good for much beyond 25 yards anyway.

On a serious note, this does lead to the question...

In the 41st Millenium, when people can have plasma guns and heavy bolters and las-cannons.. why the feth does anyone want a sword?!

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

An uncounted number of companies make 1911s and varients upon the theme. I see no reason why the country making them has anything to do with it. The berreta 92FS (standard issue 9mm pistol in all branches of the US military) is Italian in design (although they were bought out by an american company). The m249 Machine Gun is Belgian.

I wouldn't waste .45 ACP on this monster, really. You're paying for twice as much ammunition for essentially a novelty.

Yeah.. well.. There is something pleasing about a chainsword to a man.. but still.

If your going to go to a fight, you want a firearm, not a sword.. even if its an ace one.

Hey they give scouts combat blades.. I guess Space Marines always give the new guys the gak end of the stick as well.

If you're up against chaos-mutated transhuman wearing a half foot of ceramite on all surfaces with a big bowie knife and you survive -- well, you've definitely earned an agonising death of a plasma pistol misfire er, the honor of wielding the Imperium's most advanced weaponry.

Wait. How does 2 barrels firing 8 bullets each(16) add up to 30 when fired singly?

It's bait and switch. He's using 230gr 45s and comparing them to 125gr 9mms because emptying an XD or Glock once and being able to engage each target separately with a single conserving ammunition sounds way more useful than a real life Bloodnovsky pistol.

Using gameloads and such, sure, depending on the gauge of the shotgun. But If you stick slugs in a shotgun, youd be plenty surprised how far you can reach with them. Like Manchu said, handguns arnt very effective past a short distance. Can you still hit things farther then 30 yards? Of course. Is it very effective? No.

Also, Im half and half on that 1911 thing. Whoever splice them together did a FANTASTIC job. But my gripe is the handle looks rather wide.

Well of course its silly, weapons like that are mostly made to show off the company in questions abilities. But would I still shoot one? Or own one if I won it/was rich enough not to care about price? Sure I would

Wouldn't it hurt like hell if that thing hits? I mean, it is firing 2 .45 rounds at the target, which will most likely both hit at the same time.

Well, yeah, that's sort of the point

Guns are implements of death, after all!

A single .45 can rip a hole in your head the size of a golf ball, depending on the situation. This would probably cause irreparable damage anywhere it hits, although I have no idea how tight the groupings would be, or how consistent you could get them.

Oh, I understand that. I'm just pointing out one of the appealing features of such a weapon.
Its probably the most lethal sidearm atm.

Well, it does seem to have a single trigger. At least 2 that are so close that they might as well be 1 trigger.

Actually twinlinked gives you better accuaracy (shoot, miss, reroll miss). This gun would be a StormPistol, 2 shots both equal chance to hit or miss.
