Hi guys,

My GF finished her first ever 40K army earlier and I thought I'd share it with you. She still has a couple of things to do, and needs to get a few more essential models to finish it off too, but as we mainly play at home proxy models aren't an issue for the mo.

She went for a nice bold scheme that was quick to paint and is really effective on the tabletop. She tried out a couple of different pink and purple schemes and settled on this very striking magenta/black combo.

Feel free to leave any c&c and i'll pass it on.

I love bold paint schemes, especially monochromatic + shades + accents. This army looks good.

She's done a fine job, Orki. Although, with you as a mentor/boyfriend, I wouldn't expect anything less. Her color scheme works really well, especially with SoB. I dig it.

Top notch! Really lonin' the colour scheme choosen here. Makes me wish I still had my old SoBs. I'd strip 'em and follow your bold lead.

Fantastic colour scheme, and a very striking force. Looks amazing!

It might just be the photos, but it looks like the faces need more shading. Not sure though, they might just be really well blended, but hard to tell from the photos. They could just as easily be a single coat of Elf Flesh.

I like it.

It's like the Order of Our Martyred Lady, yet different enough with the pink alone. Not to mention the patience needed with just building those two Exorcists for a first army too.

The fact that your GF is into the hobby at all is amazing. I'm jealous.

Nearly, just a single coat of tallarn. She does have plans to go back and do a little bit more here and there when she has the time. Including painting the Excorcist tracks that got forgotten. The mission was to get them game-worthy in minimal time basically, so there are a few compromises here and there, but look great on the table nonetheless.

I was impressed too! Well, until I had to get the tools out and hammer the gak out of the ill-fitting parts for her. The was some small amount of Orki-assistance with them.

I think there's some more special weapons, some wheels for the girls, and some more flavoursome cc units on the shopping list to come once she's got the models.

As others have stated, excellent color scheme.

Perhaps the camera flash washed out the gold color on the vehicles. but if not, a wash of Devan Mud on that gold will give it nice contrast and beautiful antique gold effect.

A similar wash of several wash colors on the skin tones, with a light touch of black, or maybe even blue wash on the silver.

But I bet you and her already know that

I'm not too sold on the colour scheme. I'm getting too much of an "Emperor's Children-ey" vibe from it, which makes me think this is a Slaaneshi army at first glance. It takes a while to shake but my first impression was "This is an EC army using SOB models". Whilst it is very striking the pink does not sit right in my head as it's treading too much on another army's established studio colour scheme a bit too much.

Never thought I'd be saying this about a scheme with pink, but that is one badass sisters army! Very stricking scheme as you said, and really well done. Loving the bone (marble?) color on the tanks too. Great stuff!

Ahhh, that will be my new camera's crazy good iso reacting to the black backdrop. There's no flash present and I was just getting some quick snaps for her, and so didn't bother shooting in any of the manual modes. It does look like a flash fired though doesn't it? Particularly in that Excorcist shot!

That's ok mate, each to their own. She's not the sort of person to shy away form a colour she likes just because someone else has already used it for another scheme. We'd all run out of schemes very quickly if that were the case.
