This looks a bit bad to be honest.
The only upgrade I ever put on the trukk was the ram, which isn't really necessary anymore. Still, this means trukks are more expensive than rhinos for some reason. Sure, at t6, w10, and sv4+, they're much more survivable, but they're still going to be nothing more than one-shot rockets to get melee troops where they need to be. They've almost doubled in cost.

I have absolutely no complaints on trukks. With those stats, it almost guarantees the boyz are in on turn 2 and will eat almost ALL overwatch, except Tau (  )
Losing open topped on the bw is nothing, as we can still assault from it. T8 for the win!

Again, trukks are way less risky now, even enough to put boyz in, so I see your point. It's just that most of my lists are vehicle-heavy so I'm gonna have to rethink a few things. Honestly, though, rethinking lists is gonna be a major source of fun when 8th drops so I guess I'm pretty meh about this change.
Still a bit salty that trukks cost more than rhinos, though. Do we know the stats on those, yet?

If I've done the math right, a fresh Battlewagon with Deffrolla should cause about 7 damage from about 2 unsaved wounds charging an Imperial Knight. Not too shabby, if shooting a knight has gotten it low enough to risk an assault like that. Especially if the Knight's lowered stats make it hard to hit back after.

To be fair about the griping for the alleged 76 points cost for trukks (which I think is wrong personally), it looks like transport costs across the board are all being scaled waaay up. Leaked scans of the new SM for 8th ed has rhinos costing 70 points and drop pods now cost 108 points each! It makes sense though IMO due to the changes to how transports work in 8th ed. You want the goods, you gotta pony up.

Yeah, I'd be ecstatic if boyz were S4 base now that furious charge is effectively gone. Supposedly in an Italian translation of some rules, Nobz are S5 base.

Strength 4 orks makes me happy, assuming that rumor turns out to be accurate.
Maybe all the various ork vehicle upgrades will be good now, and so a Trukk will be kind of like a Razorback except instead of having it stay back and shoot things we smash it into things and the ram, grabbin klaw and wreckin' ball dish out a lot of damage?
ETA: Ork vehicles getting a lot of wounds but a poor save seems pretty thematic.

I can imagine a whole bunch of shots tearing off bits of scrap as the enemy just tries to bring these shambling heaps down.
Also, if the wrecking ball and grabbin claws are actually good, I'm gonna have to get some extra bits- I used all those for kitbashing.

I just reread all the faction focuses, and the SM and Eldar and Tau ones are all like "whoa look att all these awesome units that are now much tougher to kill, and all these awesome weapons that make a lot more damage now!!"
And then the Ork one is like "well, we kind of fixed some of the most glaringly penalizing basic rules for you... uh... and yea, your Weirdboy still has the same power as before but now there's no scatter!! Great, eh?"
I dunno, I got a good vibe in the beginning when they started talking about the changes to assault, but I still don't see what they think should be the Ork's strengths? Assault, shooting, hordes, resilience, fast transports - there is always someone else who does it better, and now we don't even get to keep our cheap Trukks (if the above is correct). What are Orks supposed to do, except being the comic sideshow?

Honestly we're still looking better than 7th. And, as a relatively new player, 7th is all I've known. If we get even a little bit of a buff, I'll take it. Still, until I see our codex and the BRB in full, I'm not going to start ranting about doomsday, nor will I preach about how "our time is now." For all we know trukks might be stronger than rhinos now, and considering all the options trukks have, this might actually be true.

Let's wait for the whole rules before declaring the sky to be falling.
What we don't know about trukks yet:
- Movement distance compared to rhinos
- Attacks, strength, to hit chance compared to rhinos
- Additional rules like ramshackle
Also context. 12 boyz jumping out of a truck and charging is a lot scarier than 10 tacticals jumping out of a rhino and charging.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be the first one outside of GW's HQ chucking stikkbombs in their windows if they screw us over again. But we don't know yet.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.

Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.

That honestly might be our gimmick this edition. As of 7th I've never had a reason to take grabbin klaws, wreckin' balls, or boarding planks. This might change all that.

Where are you getting the info from?
Anywayz, i'm fine with 76 pt trukks. Namely cause they're gona be great in mellee. Overwatch was awful for orks and now we got our own personal overwatch-eaters. 5 move is not that great tho but 'ere we go is still here and boss will help out with advances + charges. Furthermore, there's no snp - means that manz will still be able to advance + charge. And as the weapons like kombi-skorchas are assault, we don't even loose anything from advancing, shooting and than charging. I'm kinda happy i got me 4 trukks and 15 manz. Will need a wagon or two tho.

To compare a drop pod is 103 before a trukk was 30 and drop pod 35 so not sure it's really a nerf (but i am surprised that the trukk doesn't have a m14)

If Trukks are more expensive than Rhinos but are easier to destroy, there's probably a good reason for it; i.e. the "new" open-topped rule, its transport capacity, speed, melee capabilities, etc.

I don't mind the truck price increase, they were so cheap that they were a no brainer before. Now it will be a bit more of a decision especially given all the advantages that they bring to the table. I think there will always be Speed Freak armies knocking about anyway as a lot of people love the concept regardless of its viability.
Really happy with the stats increase on Ork boyz, it is another encouraging factor to use big blobs of boyz which are a lot more Orky than MSU imo. Although it essentially means that Scarboyz are never coming back which is sad.

I hope we will get a new transport, which can transport something like 20 boyz, which will be cheap and easier to destroy than battlewagon

I'm looking forward to finally getting rules for some of our FW vehicles that haven't had rules in print for years. A big Trakk or gun wagon might be a nice compromise between Trukk and battle wagon like little-killer is looking for.
And skarboyz were veterans back in 2nd/3rd editions with +1S.
