Like the title says, which chapter do you think should, or would like to see a codex for, include some special rules they might have or units.

For me I would love to see a LotD codex.

I would like to see them as a shooting based chapter, going of the current generic SM codex they would get 1+ to their BS and 1- to their WS.
All their troops would get fearless, except for scouts elites such as terms would still need to role a moral check.

just a shot in the dark there but who do you think should have their own codex, and GO!

To many unpainted models to count.

I'd love to see a Red Corsairs book. Huron Blackheart has always been one of my favorite Chaos Space Marine characters, and I liked the original idea behind the army, of Marines from many different Chapters unified only by the red stains used to hide their old symbols of heraldry. I'm having trouble coming up with specific rules that I'd like to see for them at this particular moment, but I'll revisit the idea later and get back to you.

NO MORE SM CODEXES!

I DO want to see an Iron Hands special character in the next C:SM however.

Ultramarines.

It's so sad to see what is supposed to be the flagship marine chapter so tragically underrepresented in both fluff and on the tabletop...

A suppliment for both the current Chaos and Loyalist codexs that includes additional rules for other chapters. Much like the 3.5 Chaos codex it would add to the current rules, not be a complete codex, dictating army selections, a unit or two (special character too) and wargear unique to each chapter. So no full codex, just a few pages for chapters that don't diverge from the codex enough- ie an Exorcist army would gain a resistance to daemons/psychic powers and could take flamers in Devastator teams. Admitedly this would probably take a bit of time to playtest- say 20 army variants needing to be tested-, but it would be neat. Similar to the old Chapter Approved articles I suppose, youknow that old creativity. ^^

Then again, I don't suppose it would take too long for me to produce a PDF document like this. Like I said, it'd be the playtesting for balancing that would be the issue (something that takes the sidelines with GW of late of course). =D

Couldn't agree more.

All we need is someone who can write coherent and well thought out fluff whilst also knowing how the game works and so is able to write fluent, fair and balanced rules.

Salamanders!

I could sit here and try to justify it, because they have unique circumstances and non-standard organization and such. But that would just be rationalizing the core reason.

That reason being- I like the Salamanders.

Salamanders aren't different enough. Their divergance comes in the form of organisation, in that they have 7 companies instead of 10, and they're large to make up the difference.

All of their other 'traits' simply don't justify a whole codex. They tend to hand craft their own gear, and like fire based weapons (though not to the mass exclusion of others, as Vulkans trait would have you believe).

Salamanders are fine, even without Vulkan in the list. As I've said before, the last thing I want to see are Salamanders riding Firedrakes, weilding Drakehammers and Dakesbreath flamers.

Don't care. Want Salamanders. Already admitted that I wasn't going to try and rationalize it in my first post.

Blood Ravens

I find it odd that a video game producer chooses a Space Marine Chapter so outlandish and mysterious and there is barely a mention of them in the tabletop.

I would say this as well. I was actually really mystified to find out that the Blood Ravens didn't have their own book (this was basically before I ever really got into 40k).

Alpha Legion.

Their different enough and unique in that noone really knows who's side their own. Having them as an independent army with a fully fledged codex would be awesome to say the least.

They didn't choose them, they created them. And they created them so they had a blank slate to work with from a story perspective. Not odd at all, they didn't want to be stuck with the baggage (and probably fanbase) of an existing chapter.

As much as I like space marines, I agree that there is already enough variation.

They need to start focusing on the other armies like Tau. I would also like to see a real sisters of battle codex with some plastic models too!

Neither are Dark Angels, lol.

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"

As also what Ailoros said;
Ultramarines seriously, they need their own codex as so we also have a seperate "generic" SM codex for those who have custom chapters/minor chapters. Blood angels i think are cool with their own aswell as SW and BT. But we just need a separate codex for em smurfs tbh.

You wouldn't think that ultras were underepresented around my area. :/ Out of 8 players of SM only me and one other guy didn't collect UM. I have a homebrew, he has the Iron Hands.

In reply to the OP, they don't need any more. There should just be SM and maybe SW. The special units of other chapters should just be laid out in the codex like the LotD.

Space Marines - 2000 points

Interestingly enough back in the 4th edition when it was traits over SC's the blood ravens were listed with their own traits too.

No more codexes either xenos or marines. Just update the existing ones more frequently. Also create the diversity inside each codex rather than do the same army with a few differences. Either by changing the Force organization chart when you take some characters or be able to take specific units.

I'd rather see a big book to rule all the space marine chapters. Being able to chose lineage (Sons of Dorn, Sons of Guilliman, etc) or creed (Omnissiah worship). Give some special entries for the Legions and call it a day.
