Okay so after about 4 or 5 months of not playing a game with my Death Guard i decided it was time to revamp my list. So here we go

2 x Deamon Princes (MoT, Wings, Warptime, Doombolt) -185 each

2 x Dreadnoughts w/ Missle and Lascannons -125 each

2x 5PM (Champ w/ PF, 2 Melta Guns, Rhino Transport) - 210Each

2x 5PM (2 Plasma Guns, Rhino Transport) - 180 Each

2 x 3 Oblits

1x Defiler w/ Autocannons and Additional CC weapon)

So basic theme is Target Saturation, Lots of stuff to shoot at but hopefully not enough guns.
I can already see hordes and Fast moving Armies as a weakness but hopefully i can counter that with the DPs and Defiler.
at 1850 i take one Oblit from each squad and thats 1850.

So Thoughts Guys?

With all that blast (Battle Cannon, 6 oblits) I'd run 1 lash, 1 warptime.

Especially since, doesn't the new(ish) FAQ kind of screw warptime?

Another thought is that Nurgletime princes are better than Tzenchtime princes depending on what you're using them for, and would be more in keeping with your Death Guard.

Lastly, Chaos Dreads are terrible. Especially shooty ones. Replace these with teleporting suicide terminators, chosen, or more marines. If you are dead-set on having a Chaos Terminator included in the list, take them bare and run them as close combat distractions.

In friendly games, run them as Contemptors.

...Tzeentch Daemon Princes. In a Nurgle list.

I've got to hand it to you, that is certainly innovative. Most of the time, competitive Chaos armies are composed of Slaanesh Daemon Princes and Plague Marines.

Also, drop the Dreadnaughts, they tend to be unpredictable. Chosen tend to be useful choices, Terminators if you've got plenty of points to spare.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

actually the dreads can be fairly easy to control. especially with the FAQ and the firing Arc. Ive felt the MoT Princes are better then MoN since whats gong to hurt them more are big guns and PWs of any sorts. Warptime did get a bit screwed but its a very minor difference. Play tested a simliar list and they only crazed once and it was the Shooty crazed so i didnt mind lol. ive tried chosen and termis but they didnt work to well

If you're having successes with Chaos Dreads and failures with Terminators and Chosen, then you are having a very unique play experience.

I say don't drop the Dreadnaughts! Yeah, they're unpredictable, but so what? They also add more fun to the game by providing you with weapon platforms that you just have to be smart about where you put them/what you do with them. The unpredictable element adds character to the army, it might lead to some really ridiculous things happening which is always good for a laugh.

The other option is to go ahead and field what everyone else fields. Sure, the aforementioned units work and do their job, but it sorta sounds boring....

Just a thought..

let the galaxy burn

Let your passion for battle burn like the fires of the forge. 2000pts and growing!

starting up!
