Looking good. You've got a nice texture on all the armor pieces, and I like the plague marine conversions (they usually don't come out that well).

Wow, lots of pictures. They all look really good, I like the lightning claw effects (well all the power weapon effects) and the way you've done the armour. My one critisism would be that compared to the quality of the rest of the model the trophy ravenwing head looks a little incomplete.

The Plague Marines are just standard marines with the weird heads, then another two of those heads cut down and that. Happy its works Melcavuk wrote:Wow, lots of pictures. Yeah I think I really hit the nail with the Power Weapons, I got the effect I was looking for. Thanks. And I think you referring to the Chaos Lord. His entire model is not complete yet, and I don't think I will complete him because he it really badly painted so I'm going to buy another one make sure I do a good job on him. But I know what you mean, the ravenwing head need his eyes done and the highlights are a weak colour and don't really pop out.

The Lord still looks nice, but if you are attached to starting from scratch there are a few threads on here about stripping models for re-use, it could save you a little money and let you keep using a miniature you spent time on.

he looks alright from a distance, I know but I don't under stand the process lol everything people use I don't know where to get. Plus if I buy a new one which is only like $48, I can magnetise him so he is easy to paint and I can get every where on the model. And then I can change him to a sorcerer if needed.

Yes Word Bearers do not worship any one god as a whole, but I would say there would be select squads that favour certain gods. And thank you.

Well I used old and new paints so you will have to you the GW conversion chart. Here is a quick show, I will be making a tutorial for them both way more in depth I hope
Word Bearers
Overbrush the entire model with Mechrite Red. Paint all the trims and silver parts in Ironbreaker (Chainmail). When its dry wash the entire model with Badab Black, be generous. When thats dries paint the armour with a 50/50 mix of Mechrite Red and Red Gore. Highlight blood red. paint the eyes with green, I think I use snot green and scaly green.
Plague Marines
Overbrush the entire model with Gretchen Green. Paint all trims and silver parts in Ironbreaker (Chainmail). When its dry wash the entire model with Devlin Mud, be generous Paint the Bolter casing Mechrite Red and then wash that with Badab Black.

Ahhh. I have 3 separate recipes for word bearers:
The first was basecoat P3 Sanguine Base, Then Scab Red, wash Leviathan Purple, then Scab Red:Red Gore 1:1, then Pure Red Gore, and edges with Blood Red.
For the new paints, I basically use the new standard Khorne Recipe: Khorne Red Base, wash carroburg crimson, edge wazdakka red, edge squig orange, then use bloodletter glaze. Looks almost exactly like what I do in the above recipe with much less effort.
Now that I have switched completely over to P3 (see my conversion chart floating around this forum somewhere) for no reason other than the heck of it, I use 2 parts Skorne Red to 1 part murderous magenta (which looks exactly like Mechrite Red in the pot, but dries like Red Gore, except with that weird P3 satin sheen). I am going to try P3 Traitor Green later for a plague marine.

Paint job looks great dude. Try drilling out the gun barrels with a pen drill. They look so much better that way. What are you going to do with the base?
