So i played a game yesterday(1000 points, C:SM vs, SW) ANd i decided to bring two dreads.
Both had A CC weapon, one had a lascannon, to other a plasma cannon and a heavy flamer inside a drop pod.
While the guy in the drop pod was able to take down long fangs in two turns and the lascannon a wolf lord on a thunder-wolf i lost that game.
But im wondering what is the best loadout for dreads?
I have tried dakka dreads an i love them but i have two dreads(hopefully 3 soon, an ironclad) so im wondering what is the best loadout fr them is?

I hear rifleman dreads are good for long distance support, and multi-melta dreads are good for drop-podding.

I like assault cannon in a drop pod. Drop pod means the assault cannon is close enough, but the extra range (compared to multimelta in-melta range) means that your opponent is less able to stop it with castling. Plus, it can handle vehicles and tougher stuff with S6 rending, while it has enough shots with the storm bolter (or optional heavy flamer) to make it decent against infantry.

Plus, it's hella cheap. You show up anywhere and threaten anything for only 150 points.

I like heavy flamer plus multi-melta with a drop pod, plasma cannon without.

Tau and Space Wolves since 5th Edition.

Depends on what you use in your army. If you use Vulkan for example, a MM/HF is almost mandatory to get the most out of his Chapter Tactics. But if you run Lysander or Calgar for example a Rifleman (2 Twin Linked Autocannons) is good.

Personally I like Ironclaxs with DCCW/HF and Seismic Hammer/Meltagun, with Ironclad Assault Launchers and 2 Hunter Killers. Again very good with Vulkan due to the Twin Linked HF and Meltagun.

For venerable Dreadnoughts you can take Assault Cannons and Multimeltas as they have a great chance of hitting, whereas.the standard one's BS4 means TL weapons are better.

On regular dreads though, I like Assault Cannon/DCCW with Stormbolter. Personally I prefer Stormbolters to Heavy Flamers. HF make you closer and stormbolters can threaten from longer.

Lysander, Bolter Drill: Any models in a squad that Lysander has joined can re-roll failed "to hit" rolls when shooting heavy bolters, storm bolters, bolters, and bolt pistols.

I don't believe that Lysander can join a dreadnought. If he could, he still could not confer his Bolter Drill to an Autocannon.

Yes but Calgar and Lysander are the.most poplular after Vulkan. Riflemen are the best. If Vulkan didn't have Chapter Tactics I would recommend Riflemen for him too.
