@mxwllmdr - the glowing effect on the border of the table (where the hologram starts) or of the grid and indicators?

Well, as promised, I continued to build out the interior of the command section.
Initially it looked like this


Then I built up the walls, added ornaments and the "holographic projector"


Instruments for the other wall


and with the command crew in place

Next was the "bridge"


operated by levitating Servitors


Not quite the Enterprise, but i like it

I can't wait to see what you do with that Holographic Projector!

At first I was concerned by the overly large buttons on the control panels, but I've never tried to press a button with a servo-claw, I suppose it would be quite difficult.

i marvel where you draw all your ideas from... where did you get all that inspiration... levitating servitors...OMG...and this will be the vehicle with the biggest crew ever to be seen...

wow that is amazing, i love the story put here, those humans with looking at the (awsomely built) hologram, and the freaking cool servitors in the amazing control room!

I tend to think of servitors as being hard wired into sonething like this, as in a Titan; speaking of which would you have the equivalent of a Princeps on the bridge (pesky servitors, always flying the ship to the drive-in to watch cartoons). Niggling though, a great job and love that chimera wheel as base for the projector especially!

Amazing - the scale, imagination and quality of this whole blog is amazing!

So, many cool ideas.

I immediately began building a Tech Priest - he'll overwatch the Servitors.

@mxwllmdr - well for the grid, the glow effect is rather easy. I strated with very deluted Snot Green and a realtively wide line, then a finer line with less deluted Goblin Green, and finally a very fine line with non-deluted Scorpion Green. For the glow around the map, I used Bronzed Flesh for the first ~5mm, then drybrushed the whole map area with Terracotta - this way the interior was drybrushed on black, but the outer area on the yellowish Blesh. After that I use the same procedure as with the grid, starting with the deluted Snot Green.

Over the last view days I began to paint the interior of the bridge and the conference room.
Here I applied the first base colors. As you can see I try to use the standard greenish grey used in most military interiors. The rear wall of the conference room is Scab Red and the griffin is golden, while the ornaments are all kind of brazzen.


Here I applied the Dwarf Bronze around most instruments, hopefully giving everything the proposed steampunky look and added details to the instruments and screens.


Once I was satisfied with the looks, I added the wear and tear.
The ATHENA is just coming towards the end of a long and tyring campaign against the Orks. She's not spitshiny


But the conference room looks a bit better, less worn


And then I strated to work on the holographic projector


Which in the end looks like this

and the complete bridge with the central console


This is now pretty much it.
Next will be to paint the actual Servitors and the (newly built. not photographed) Tech Priest to complete this section, so I can go on the new adventures on the outside of the ATHENA

Well, I continued with painting the Servitors and the Tech Priest (here at an early stage)


Then there were several washes and highlights, but since they are all in a closed room, relatively dark, there are no strong or bright highlights


But with everyone in place, I think it works quite well together

Peeping through the window

I will not glue everything in place yet, as I'm still tinkering with the idea of installing LED lights.
But next image will be with everything in place and then I will finish up the superstructure (the rear is still completely open) and apply lots of rivets and ornaments.
Then it will be most likely the completion of the main turret with the tripple Earthshakers (final position and ornaments), and then....
...who knows

Not sure you're allowed on a command deck with an
Unsheathed power weapon, it's a health hazard looks superb mate, amazing job.

the tech priest is an interesting mix of bitz and scratchbuilds here...

is his tech arm really made from straws? hmmm... i searched your blog but didn´t foundadditional pics lest en nature pcs of him... a WIP of him would be nice...


and with that group of servitors you certainly aimed for odd and hit a bullseye^^... the schemes of these i really like! eben tho there are no tow alike they certainly are all tied together with the scheme you´ve used!

and yep... you wouldn´t call a man capable of doing things you do sane, now would you ?
