Personally, if I'd call any older models that some people love hideous, it would be the old 1-2ed Orks, the old chaos marines, and I'm not a fan of the metal Cadians either.

Celestine, Kharn, Ahriman, Eldrad, and Grimnar have all been excellent updates of old models that make them look more dynamic and detailed without really changing the core elements that make those models iconic. Hope they do the same for Ghazkull, Calgar, Shadowsun, and Vect soon.

One thing that the plastic doesn't convey, to me anyway is weight. Khan, Grimnar and the plastic cadians in particular from your choices don't look as hefty as the metal versions. Whilst this suits some models, such as Eldrad, some models have lost something in the conversion. The old Grimnar was a great model, I dislike and don't feel the new model does the character justice, and even though new Khan is bigger and more dynamic, the presence the model carries is off compared to the the metal model, IMO anyway.

I'm not sure if you mean physical or visual heft. I prefer most of the newer sculpts over the old models, but I do feel odd holding non-metal characters. I'm not sure, but the physical weight seems to give metal something extra in my mind. Perhaps I should glue some pennies on the bottom, and try to get the best of both worlds.

The only thing I miss about the old metal walkers and vehicles is that they made good improvised weapons when put into a sock.

Because of the infinity symbol over the mystery rune. Not convinced myself yet as it also gets used in places that have nothing to do with wraith constructs, like Saim Hann's world rune.

Maybe it's the somatic feel of holding them that is perceiving me to view them as having more weight. Some of the more dynamic poses don't convey weight, or power that the old metal models had to me though.

The thingis that there are no rumors of an Eldar and Chaos Triumvirate. This is just wild speculation that has gone rampant.

"In the face of oblivion, hope will be reborn" - Ynnead is the hope of the Eldar, the Eldar used to be reborn after going in to the warp

You have the rune with the death symbol. Ynnead is the God of the dead

Deathmasque had Ynnead zooming off into the galaxy

All the clues have been pointing to Ynnead. I'll feel so catfished if it's not, ha.

The rune, exept for the infinity symbol, is represented in the Eldar codex as belonging to some specific striking scorpions shrines. (current printed codex page 73).

Considering the fluff and the suspicious dark eldar elements we have recently made out of the blurry pics, Im guessing its maybe Arhra returning.

Yet, I cant shake the feeling of "something cool" beeing a bad pun.

Yeah, it's also used in the symbol for House Ulthanesh (Prince Yriel's House) so it definitely sees wide use.

It's not the Striking Scorpion rune, though it is similar. It also has similarities to the Wraith and Autarch symbols. I really hope it's not Ahra though.

That rune has parts or similarities of other Eldar runes, mainly infinite circuits, scorpions, autarchs, rune of Yriel, Siam-hann, karandras,... - everything points to something related. Or that its meaning simply has to do with the Eldar unification.

I would hope it's more Dark Eldar or Harlequin oriented as at least those factions could still use a larger unit.

Dark Eldar don't have a infinity circuit and don't use wraith constructs.

Are Harlequin wraith lords still a "thing" in the fluff?

I'm not familiar with the Rogue Trader rulebook but as of 2nd edition there was no mention in the fluff of Harlequin Dreadnoughts (not Wraith Lords at the time). There is an old piece of art showing one, but it's oooold. Perhaps someone with a Rogue Trader rulebook can speak up if there are rules/old entries for one?

Like many people, I did built one just for fun - using the classic Jetbike faceplate (which cost more than the dreadnought itself...grrrr)
Spoiler:

I built one simply as a nod to the old conversions you'd see in White Dwarf etc. Logically they don't make any sense at all to feature with Harlequins, but rule-of-cool and all that.

That art is from 1st ed but not the RT book. IIRC it was in the 40k compendium that had the first Harlie list. This was back when they could also take (stolen)Land raiders, so yeah a lot has changed since then.
