Nope, I loved it too. People frequently over-painted the lips, I think, but it was an awesome sculpt.

Old Celestine wasn't hideous, but does suffer from the old metal model problem of a relatively static pose. And the cherubs and dove being throttled are not great elements. But the new head and face are far superior, and plastic allows a much more dynamic pose and details- not necessarily that she if flying on ribbons, but that her pose is more open, with the bent leg, billowing cape, and arms and cables spread out away from the body, makes her look more graceful thna the metal version, while remaining very faithful to the overall look and details.

Personally, if I'd call any older models that some people love hideous, it would be the old 1-2ed Orks, the old chaos marines, and I'm not a fan of the metal Cadians either.

Celestine, Kharn, Ahriman, Eldrad, and Grimnar have all been excellent updates of old models that make them look more dynamic and detailed without really changing the core elements that make those models iconic. Hope they do the same for Ghazkull, Calgar, Shadowsun, and Vect soon.

yeah, but last release was a box of three imperial SC, and going by the rumours, next two release will be a box of Eldar SC, and a box of Chaos SC. I can live with it if it's only temporary, but with the return of the primarch looming, I fear that it will be the trend for 8th edition as well.

Oh, I'm sure we'll still get plenty of normal guys too - this Campaign might be character heavy but there's still loads of room for infantry releases

One thing that the plastic doesn't convey, to me anyway is weight. Khan, Grimnar and the plastic cadians in particular from your choices don't look as hefty as the metal versions. Whilst this suits some models, such as Eldrad, some models have lost something in the conversion. The old Grimnar was a great model, I dislike and don't feel the new model does the character justice, and even though new Khan is bigger and more dynamic, the presence the model carries is off compared to the the metal model, IMO anyway.

My guess is it's a Wraith construct coming tomorrow.

That'd be cool. But, it could be anything. Model preview, teaser image, snippet of text.

If the Gathering Storm campaign is the build up to 8th then I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of its releases are character models, with new units and/or new kits for existing units held back for the 8th ed dex's.

I hope it's not a wraith construct. I would hope that whatever comes out, it is something with lasting appeal and use. Do the Eldar really need another wraith construct? Something between a Wraithlord and Wraithknight? Or even worse, something even larger than a Wraithknight?

I would hope it's more Dark Eldar or Harlequin oriented as at least those factions could still use a larger unit.

I hope it's Sylandri's model complete with grumpy psychic cat.

Dark Eldar don't have a infinity circuit and don't use wraith constructs.

Should be great. Fall of Cadia had a nice ending. Just as long as it's not more D-weapons, s'all good.

And yes, I do believe the Harlequins have some version of a Wraithlord that helps guard the Black Library.

Right, which is why I don't want it to be a wraith unit

Eldar simply don't need anything new. They need their current line modernized and released in plastic. Dark Eldar on the other hand could really use a super-heavy type unit.

I hope whatever they release is fairly balanced , a gorgeous sculpt, and has interesting(while, again, balanced) rules.

In other words, it will be awful in the Craftworld Eldar book, and the crying will be relentless. :p

My on sprue harlequins hope it's a cool HQ, because I would love to be able to run them in all the local tournies that are strictly 1 HQ 2 troops CADs. Skitarii got their bone!
