Those Harvesters look wonderful, in some ways it is refreshing to see insect based Aliens that aren't 6 limbed, helps to convey that they are alien to our senses, same goes for the tripod ranged ones.

Really wish there were enough of those gun arms to do the entire box as ranged.

With these done, do WGA plan on making a larger Harvester kit, say a Harvester Warrior/Brood leader?

I figure I will be able to make roughly three six legged big bugs from each sprue (looks like you can do 4 if you do four legged variants).

Looks like there is space in the torso between front and back legs to squeeze in another set of legs.

If you do make them, I'd be very interested to see how they turn out.

I actually quite like the bugs by my issue is that unlike a lot of WGA which are humans you can sub into other stuff pretty easily (40k in this case), bugs simply aren't the same. They need a range of bugs to build an army from, so it gives the same flexibility for other games as a generic human does.

Who knows what they could do if these first harvesters sell?

The bugs have other uses. They are reminiscent of crustaceans, so could be used for a few units in a kings of war Trident realms army. There's also nightstalkers which I could see these slotting into with the right paint scheme.

You could literally modify tyrannid stats and run these as essentially what they are in 40k, they would be useful as an environmental threat in narrative skirmish and kill team play. The galaxy is filled with nasty gribbles that will never get models.

WGA has talked about making more (bigger) types of the bugs if there is interest. One reason I am so active on their forum is because they seem receptive to customer input…. to a certain degree at least.

Those look like the big bugs have two part torsos? If so, you should have plenty of legs for the six leg approach.

Snap fit? WGA are starting to get fancy now, aren't they?

(and good for them! I want companies like WGA and the others to get the expertise to offer models that can compete head to head with GW for complexity, if they so desired.

I'd like them to get their releases acually released. The Spacenam models now went to a late november release.

The release schedule has been down for ages yet every newsletter refers to it.

I all comes across very amateurishly.

The release schedule has been down for coding issues. If you looked at the global shipping situation, releases being delayed is kind of normal right now.

You are absultely right about that. But the customer support people at Wargames Atlantic give completely different dates than the website does. That does kind of trigger me.
First world problems though.

Hi everyone. We've got an official account here on Dakka now.

Please note If you are thinking about asking questions about the release schedule, etc. : I can pass along questions and concerns to the higher ups here at Wargames Atlantic but I cannot guarantee answers will be forthcoming.

Quoting a post from the Wargames Atlantic Facebook group. Your commentary would be highly appreciated.

3D File Monthly Membership and Store

We've been thinking about launching a Patreon style subscription service for a large number of digital files each month. You can print them or use a service to do so. There would be something for everyone across our ranges. The files would be available later for individual purchase as well.

As part of the subscription there would be a welcome bundle as well. We're working on ideas for this that could include conversion parts and extra parts for existing sets and/or terrain, vehicles, new figure sets, characters, game aids (dice tower themed to one of our ranges), and other things.

What would you like to see in a welcome bundle and ongoing?

I'm good with what makes the most sense for a service like this - extra bits for existing kits to drive sales of plastic. More command bits would be nice, more melee and pistol options for Death Fields kits, and maybe rayguns for the Aztecs so they can fight off those nasty lizardmen with Ak47s. Gothic gubbinz to convert Conquistadors for Mordheim. Collectible hats.

I'm all for more goodies to expand current ranges. Extra tails or weapon options for lizards, more alien parts for the spiders, heads and banners for the Aztecs there's all sorts of possibilities!

I'd love to see more generic arms using weapons from Death Fields so we can convert all the non- scifi releases to match.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Can you do mirror-flipping of existing bits, such as left-handed rifle arms for the Death Fields teams?

You could make crane(?) and coyote(?) back banners to convert Aztecs into Tlaxcalans, their other, other sworn enemies.

What type of collectible hats? Would they need to stack?

Thank you for your sugestions.

Thank you for your suggestions. extra tails for the lizardmen is a nice idea. Were you imagining tail accoutrement? Like the end of the tail being capped with metal?

Good idea. Thank you for your suggestions.

Current list of suggestions:

Collectible hats for miniatures
tlaxcalan bits pack
Aztec banners and weapons expansion pack
mirrored arms for sci fi sets
extra tails for lizardmen
more sci fi parts for the spiders
more weapon options for the lizardmen
melee and pistol options for death fields
sci fi pack for the aztec kit

With the tails, I just want more. I've chopped up plenty of lizard heads (since we got so many) to fit on other bodies, but we only get 3 tails to a sprue. Got a lot of bodies without tails now.

Tails with blades, bandages, armor.... whatever you guys think of.

I agree with Bob's idea of some of the current arm choices so we can mirror them- obviously for dual- wielding teacups!

I'd second more Melee Options for the Lizard men. The spears are okay, but far too fragile. The current swords seems a little small. I'd be happy with broader blades (like a wide machete) or even just a good club with some heft.

I'll second the mirroring of pistols and melee weapons from Death Fields kits. I'd also like more command items; you've some in the Les Grognards Command set, but binocular arms and walkie-talkie arms without big shoulder pads would be nice. Also a bullhorn so one can have a crowd control unit, "Disperse immediately!" A flashlight held in an overhand grip as a cop or watchman would do to light up a dark alley.

Similarly, a civilian tools/items sprue. Welding torches, rivet guns, jackhammers, handheld power drills, crowbars, and chainsaw arms. A briefcase (maybe it's really a backpack nuke ...) The lightsticks used by ground personnel at airports and on aircraft carriers to guide aircraft. I'll probably think of more tools later. OTOH, it is a specialized offering, mainly of interest only to RPGers, and skirmish gamers, so it might not sell well.

As others have noted, the lizardmen could use a boost. Right now the kit does a little of everything. My suggestion is put out a fantasy booster sprue and a sci-fi booster sprue like the Death Fields sprue so customers can emphasize the side they want. Perhaps a few helmeted heads on each sprue for officers and elite troops.

re: Collectible hats. While I don't know what Lord Blackfang wants, I'd like Napoleonic French Line Dragoon helmets and Bavarian raupenhelm. Also slouch hats as they were used by many armies in the late 19th and early 20th century until helmets replaced them, and they were still worn for non-combat duties for some time after.

A group of abducted Landsknecht - The Vain - who after some time on the circuit succumbed to flattery and allowed themselves to be genetically modified to be bigger and stronger. Their alien owner of course didn’t explain that they would also become grotesque. They now operate as guns for hire and are lent out to the highest bidders as a supplement to regular teams on the Death Fields circuit. Coming soon!

Dear WGA, since we have you here: please stop making fantasy minis with integral bases. There is no need for them on minis, as shown both by you (with your s-f kits or even Lizardmen one), and by other companies producing fantasy minis (GW, Mantic, Fireforge), and they are very annoying to remove (and no, producing the bases that skip the removing part is not a solution, especially if someone prefers the look of other bases). Thanks!
That aside, additional weapons, both melee (axes, clubs etc.) and ranged (slings, blowpipes etc.) for the Lizardmen kit would be great. Some animals used for fantasy gaming could be fun too. For example: rats, giant rats, rat swarms, wolves (which could be combined with a Werewolves similar to your Giant Spiders kit), boars, bears etc.

STL idea: legs without bases

OH looking at the sci-fi Landsknechts, here's my 3d printing wish: for plastics going forward to do one thing well instead of many things poorly (with not enough options in each) and get varient builds through STLs.
