It's all in the title, what do you want to see more then anything in 6 ed. 40k. I want foot armies to be viable again, if that means nerfing vehicles a bit then so be it. How bout ya'll?

The pen is mightier then the sword, but you must keep a sword handy for when the pen runs out of ink.

Yeah, get rid of that one rule that's been around since 3rd edition. Good plan.

I want snipers to be a threat.
My BA sniper scouts are useful in terms of holding objectives, but they aren't really scary.
Change that and I'm happy.

Other than that. Let me assault the crew of a transport I just blew up. Right now it's just stupid: "Hey look... there are people crawling out of the burning wrack. Better not charge them and wait for them to shoot and charge us!"

Further... The loopwhole with the stunned crew. They can't shoot while they are in the vehicle, but they can shoot when they disembark.

My one hope is that every rumor that's ever been posted about what 6th ed rules will be is categorically false. I've yet to see a rumor list that makes the game anything but much worse.

Why? That would just be stupid!

More skirmish game-types would be my wish. For a person who doesn't have the time/money/space for big-point games, I rarely step out of the 1000 point range.

I would be nice after a QUATER OF A CENTURY.For 40k to have its rules set written for its game play.
Rather than another WHFB mutated clone.

One that uses NEW game mechanics that have been available overe the last TWENTY years!
Looking at how much more elegant and tactical Epic Armageddon and Net epic are.

Why not take these rules set as a basis , and add more detail?(As EA only runs to 138 pages for everything inlcuding ALL the army lists!)

40k IS Fantasy in space.
People who don't understand this probably don't understand Fantasy very much... or 40k.

I think all cover saves need to be dropped by 1, so 4+ becomes 5+

As was mentioned effective snipers and kill team/skirmish size games would be excellent too.

Well, I have no wishes or desires concerning the new edition.

My fear is that the rule set will shift in the 6th ed. so that mech will be toned down and playing infantry will become more viable. This will force players to buy new models and units. This would be a logical step from the GW point of view making more money.

If my armies would be invalidated by the new rules, I would just keep playing the 5ed with my friends. I'm not going to tournaments anyway.

You're about 4 editions too late, then. It's been WHFB in Space since Rogue Trader.

Same. I REALLY hope it looks nothing like the rumors.

Um. You can assault them now.
Unless you shot but didn't blow up the transport, but a different unit picked up the kill. Then you can't.

My only fear about 6th is that all three of my WYSIWYG army lists become null and void. As I am a mear four kits away form completion. (more painting wise but that's another issue).

My hope is that with 6th, I can up my lists to 2000pts (from 1000pts) Without having to go back and edit/remove units already purchased and painted.

No it hasn't. 3rd had magic cylinders. 4th had size categories and area terrain.

I kinda liked it when reposing a model didn't have an in-game effect. When forests could be modeled sparse enough to move through and still offer cover. When I didn't have to take a model's eye view from every attacker to every possible target to determine cover saves. And I really liked it when a unit hiding behind a solid object couldn't be wiped out entirely because one guy's elbow was sticking out (funny that the only exception to TLOS in the current book is pants-on-head slowed).

4th basically had perfect LOS rules and it's very telling that almost the exact same rules were adopted by Warmachine, universally praised for clarity and balance (of the core rules, at least) while GW dropped them for TLOS and all the many issues it brings.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

Still looking at what the model's seeing, which is what TLOS is. You just add modifiers, but it's still TLOS:
