I work at the school cafeteria. And the problem is if i get a job within a month i would have to quit to go back to my old one, or leave my current one(which has a boss which works around my school schedule, and means i have fri-sun off for school work)

I didn't play 40k when I was a youngling or anything, and it was quite a while ago, so my perspectives might be off, but I made about $80 a month over the summer back when I was in the 17-18 year old range, and it was more than I needed. I only made about $300-400 or so a month even when I was in college, and I was using that in part to pay for classes, as well as food, etc, and it was enough. $500 to live off of when you know that's what you have to deal with doesn't sound tough.
Which brings me to my next question: Are you paying your own bills at the moment, or is the aforementioned $500 recreational only?
If that's all you have and you pay bills, I might recommend selling plasma or drug testing. Generally you can get some cash for doing the latter even if you don't take the pills. I remember signing up as backups for a couple of those tests and getting $50 for showing up some place just long enough for everyone else to take pills and make sure they keep them down long enough to pass their blood tests.

Just saw your previous post. That means you need to get creative. My recommendation: Chili, lean on the meat. Cornbread is cheap and goes well with it. If you feel the need to mix it up, Chicken and Rice stirfry is pretty cheap. Worst case, beans are an excellent source of protein.
As far as additional revenue, if it gets that bad, consider lying. If you don't take classes over the summer, feth 'em. The McDonald's Corporation will persist despite the fact that you told them you have no other obligations and then bailed when classes started. It beats being completely flatass broke, and I say that having been in that exact situation at one point in my life. McDonald's is one of those fantastic places from which you can work the gak at, and then bail the moment it becomes necessary, and never use it as a reference your entire life.

Yeah, that doesn't sound so bad. After a mental breakdown at college, I found myself on a friend's couch, not in school, no job, nothing to my name other than a beat up van that was quickly becoming more expensive to own than was profitable. I got a job at McDonalds long enough to get myself a down payment on an apartment and a suit from Goodwill to interview at semi-real jobs. I then worked two part time sales jobs for longer than I'd care to think about before I finally got a big boy job doing support for Linux based software that started paying what I'd consider middle class wages.
Go ahead and tough it out. Long as you're getting a couple square meals a day, you'll find a way to manage. Frankly, I'd say pour every last dime into school and look into some cost-free recreation. I was always a fan of soccer myself.

This is actually really good advice, especially if just graduated from college and are competing for high school kids the job.
My advice is try and a get lifeguard certification, pools are almost always looking for more staff. You can also usually get summer janitorial work at public schools, basically just moving crap around to set up for next year. Automatically Appended Next Post: daedalus wrote:

Yeah, after college I spent a year living in my parents' basement looking for work in the suburbs without a car (which is a nightmare) while watching my friends take jobs at Goldman Sachs, the Fed, and the like. It sucks, but if you can eat, and maybe swindle some booze money out of the parents, its not that bad.
Either way, 500 USD with no food or rent costs for 4 months isn't bad, more of an inconvenience really. I made it through the summer between my Junior and Senior year in roughly that situation and still had a great time.
Which actually reminds me, another good source of quick and dirty employment is canvassing. You won't have a job for long, and its a gakky job, but it pays well and you're basically guaranteed to get hired. If you live near a major city you can even bounce between various canvassing groups working there and turn and easy 6-8 weeks of employment. Canvassers tend to be pretty cool people too, its one of those "We're all in the same gakky situation." things.

The problem with mowing as a kids these days, at least in my town, is that every other old guy in town has a part time mowing business. It is pretty hard to find mowing jobs here, unless it is a family member.
Not even 7 years ago when I was still a teen, people came to my house asking me if I wanted to make a little extra money mowing. Ridiculous how much it has changed.....

There are also a lot more professional landscapers now who will do, generally, a better job faster than your average teenager will for not a whole lot more money without the hassle of having to pay in cash.

If you really feel the need to work some, but dont want to take an ongoing job.. fill out apps at all the local temp agencies. Then you call them and tell them each week what days you are available, and which ones you are not. They will send you on jobs that will sometimes be a single day, or a week. And the work will be diverse and interesting.
When I was younger I did this, worked at Sony Disc Manufacturing, a Microsoft packaging plant, a medical machinery place assembling cables, 2 different print shops, a cannery, a dairy place, and one of the best, a place that made ice cream right as they were working out a deal with a Japanese company to make blueberry ice cream. The Manager who came over from Japan with his team kept saying "not enough blue berries yet." for several runs, so all the first couple runs were given away to employees. We had months worth of free ice cream.
I don't think I was ever paid less than $10 an hour, and back then minimum wage was about $5
